We all know by now that Titus has been officially cancelled by FOX but all the Titus fans can't give up on getting the show back yet. If you love the show or even watch it periodically go to http://www.petitiononline.com/TITUS/petition.html
and sign the petition to help save Titus. We're at 262 signatures right and we need many more. Send the link to your friends and co-workers as well please. People have done it with Family Guy and we can do it with Titus as well.

Let's start a petition to save the sets then...and then another petition to save all the other petitions...

I agree. I am just hoping that the repeats show up on cable or DVD sometime.

I'm #279.

uh.. Star Trek (1966) was cancelled too until enough people wrote in. There are other cases of the same.

And died a year later. Things were a lot different back then. Titus is a 20th C Fox show. If FOX-TV cancelled it, that speaks millions to me.

JohnPhoenix 05-17-02 02:39 PM

and spawned 5 spin off shows, 6 original movies, 4 next gen ones, and tons of other great stuff....

There are more recent examples but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

Okay. I'll bet you that zero movies and zero TV shows are spun off from Titus. In other words, It's Dead Jim.

Dude, <I>Star Trek</I> is a completely unique situation. Not only was it a different era of television, the campaign was intricately manipulated (through Bjo's work) by Gene himself and was outwardly supported (even demanded) by numerous public and civil rights leaders. Despite the current perception, <I>Star Trek</I> wasn't revived by a bunch of rabid geeks who wrote a bunch of letters, but by a large and dedicated following executing piece-by-piece a well-designed plan to return the show to television.

While I thoroughly enjoy <I>Titus</I> and would like to see it return in a mid-season capacity, comparing this situation to <I>Star Trek</I> is like comparing a bowl of apples to a guy who once saw a photograph of a man who may have been thinking of oranges.

If <I>Titus</I> fans are seriously interested in seeing their show return, they should take a look at the 'Save O&A' and 'Operation: Visible Ink' campaigns. These, in my opinion, have been the most aggressive and intelligently organized "Save My Show" campaigns since Bjo and Co. first resurrected <I>Star Trek</I>. Both campaigns failed. That's not to say that a <I>Titus</I> campaign would also fail, but FOX execs couldn't give a rat's ass about a few hundred people signing some online petition. Hell, with the current state of network television, even a campaign so far-reaching and intricately designed as '<I>Star Trek</I> Lives' probably wouldn't succeed.

Here's an idea. Have Stacey Keach (Titus' dad) fight Bernie Mac on Celebrity Boxing. Winner gets to keep their show.

Haha ... I suggested that once before. FOX should have stars of "on the bubble" shows fight for prime time slots. However, Bernie Mac would be a bad choice, as his show is not only very good, but gets the ratings and is likely to have a strong run on FOX. Eugene Levy, on the other hand, may make a formidable opponent. I hear he hits below the belt.

I wasn't comparing Titus to Star Trek.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I will (we should) fight for what we like and/or believe in, even if there's slim or no chance. Because in my opinion, when we give up fighting, then all is lost.
