All I have to say is:
AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! Can't believe we have to wait until next season for the resolution of this storyline!
Dixon puts it together that Sydney is not simply just SD-6 and he confronts her. She tells him that's she's not betraying the United States, but doesn't tell him that SD-6 is a sham operation. He leaves her, and Sydney doesn't know if Dixon will turn him into the Security section.
Sloane spills the beans to Emily. She does come around and accepts what Sloane is. Sloane wants the Alliance to spare Emily. The Alliance offers to bring in Sloane into the inner circle, but the price of admission is for Sloane to eliminate Emily. What a quandary for Sloane...
Sydney has bigger fish to fry (having to get the Rambaldi document page from SD-6 and the vial of liquid to expose the plans on the page from the CIA) The page tells Sark and company how to use this device called "The Circumference".
Haladki slipped up when he referred to the device by name, and clued Jack that he was the mole in the CIA. He was dealt with summarily by Jack.
Will got the same dental treatment that Sydney got earlier in the season. At least Will got a bit of revenge at the end. "One in Five!"
It felt like the Titanic at the end when Sydney and Vaughn were running for their lives after Sydney set off the bomb to destroy the big ol' contraption/circumference. Too bad Vaughn was caught on the other side of the last door. Is he dead, we don't know.
Looks like Sydney finally gets to meet her mom, who's revealed to the big wig calling the shots (Kasinov was just a front man). I had this part figured out earlier in the episode, if not last week.
Anyways, good episode, but so frustrating as hell due to the cliff-hanger nature of the show.

Arrgh...
I knew they would do this. I mean, it's a suspense show, what did I expect? But they set up almost every single storyline to be a cliffhanger, just to make us wonder what the hell is going to happen!
Is Vaughn really dead?
What the hell does the Circumference really do?
Why is Sydney's mom "The Man"? What does she want?
Did Sloane really kill his wife?
Did Jack really kill Haladki?
Is Dixon going to report Sydney to Security Section?
Is Will's article really going to get published? What's going to happen with that?
Alias is definitely one of my favorite shows on television right now - It's going to be hell waiting until next season.

OMG. This episode was absolutely stellar. There were *no* weak spots. There was action aplenty, plots were advanced, people were killed, Vaughn wore leather and Sydney met her mom. I am so ecstatic that JJ Abrams wrote and directed this episode himself. He had told us near the beginning of the season that there were no throwaway bits on this show. *Everything* would be addressed...and now the thing Sydney stole near the beginning of the season has been called into play as well as the Asian man that tortured her in that same ep. It was just a truly great ep. A classic.
I have begun to truly love Will. I hope they do make him an agent next season as referenced in last week's ep. I was so afraid he wasn't going to make it all the way to the end.
Okay, put me in the affirmative column. This finale was worth every second of the torture I will endure during summer reruns

Sooo good. I can't wait four or so months to find out what happens...I wish they had a preview for next season, but they haven't even filmed yet. Argh!
I liked how it fit with Mother's Day, though. Very fitting.
I'm begining to like Will now, he's just become interesting. I guess Francie will be the only one in the dark, now.
The Dixon security and Will's newspaper storylines have me intrigued. As if there aren't enough problems for Syd...

I remember reading a review where a critic wondered if the finale would be up to the task of leaving us with MEGA cliffhangers [MY terminology, not his ] with the season finale since every episode ends with a cliffhanger.
Needless to say -- they've SUCCEEDED.
I do have to wonder why the Practice gets a two hour finale and Alias only got an hour. But WHAT AN HOUR IT WAS!

That said, what an incredible finale to an incredible season. People get their panties in a wad over overhyped shows like 24, but they are missing out on a definite gem. Alias delivers on every level. They've maintained a phenomenal level of suspense while staying true to their story and making the most absurd situations actually seem plausible. The mom thing was a little predictable (Farscape watchers will note how this is very similar to last season), but everything else was excellent. I absolutely love how everything has come full circle. Talk about the "circumference."

I keep thinking that Weiss (Vaughn's "buddy") is also in on mole activity because he was acting all squirrelly.
I also wished when Will was asked about the circumference, Will would have shouted "2 pi R"

Holy ****!!
I echo everyone's comments here. Alias rocks! It is the most brillant and clever show around.
I love how they went back full circle to the first episode.
I swear I wet my pants and nearly cried with the Syd and Vaughn glass scene. You've heard of 'jumping the shark'? Well JJ knows BIG TIME that is what he is effectively doing if he kills off Agent Amorous. Now we have a chance to see how Syd feels knowing that her 'guardian angel' may be a goner.
And is the CIA not going to be up Jack's, Syd's and Vaughn's asses when the get back?
Notice how you don't see any of the deaths? So who made it out and who didn't?!
Willage may have some cajones, but he is NOT spy material. Please. Spare us, JJ. Didn't Jack look like he didn't want blood on his coat when Willage was hugging him? LMAO
'It's bigger than I thought!' Sure hope so Syd, for your sake!
Just keeps getting better and better. I hope more people pick up on it during summer reruns.
Four long months guys.......

I ditto everything. I'm glad Will is alive; looks like he has no choice but to join CIA (especially since SD-6 will be out to get him).
Syd held captive by her mom? Can't wait to see that resolved.
This show has simply fantastic writing. All the balls are in the air, and they're kept in the air. Things aren't forgotten or dismissed; tension just keeps mounting. Fantastic.
Haladki has to be dead; but given all the pseudo-deaths I can see wondering if Jack killed him. Jack had all the motivation and logic to dispose him.

I just wanted to say WORD to everything that has been said here. That was like 8 different cliffhangers. Sooooooooo...........is it September yet?
Best line of the episode:
"One in five, bitch!"
Damn, that one had me yelling at my TV like an idiot - "Yeah, go Will! F*** him up!"
I love this show!!!!!

All season long, I've been annoyed with the Will character and praying that they would just kill him off. In the past two episodes, they've finally decided to make him interesting. Now I hope they keep him around.
I am constantly amazed at how good this show is... they've managed to maintain a fresh approach and a level of suspense across the *entire* season. Every time I think they've run out of ideas, they do something cool and unexpected. I have no idea if they can keep this going for years and years, but this first season was an absolute classic. Bring on the DVD!

I like plenty of shows more than Alias, but as complete seasons go, this has been one of the most consistent and memorable first seasons of any show in recent memory. No filler episodes (except a well-executed half-catchup episode). No struggling to find the characters. From that first 99 minute episode until those closing moments, it's been an almost perfectly executed season. I too don't know if they can continue at this pace, but the first season is complete, and I agree ... it's an "instant classic."

I echo your sentiments -- great show! But I also don't know a single person off the boards who watches it!
I'm absolutely positive Vaughn survives. I'm sure they realize he and Syd's relationship is crucial to the show.

It was third in the ratings but first in the coveted 18-49 demographic and first with women! So JJ, we know you aren't killing off the sexiest secret agent man on TV.
I've been trying to get people to watch it as well with no luck. They get confused cause of all the plot twists. I hope people pick up on the reruns and with the fact that X Files will be no longer.
