Survivor in the cold and snow?
They always have this show in nice warm tropical weather, dop you think they will ever have this show like in Canada, Russia, Finland, Alaska, places were its real cold outside, that would be fun to watch.

In addition to the obvious problem that there would be no women in skimpy outfits (read: lower ratings), there are numerous other problems:
- There aren't many food sources that you can find in the snow. Fruits, plants, etc, would be gone, little to no wild animals.
- Water sources would possibly freeze, making it tough to get enough drinking water.
- Bathing would be impossible, as even if they found a source that wasn't frozen, it would still be too cold. The only option would be to heat/melt enough water to pour it over yourself.
- Hypothermia is bad, mmmkay?

So in other words, the people would actually have to SURVIVE? Imagine that, on a show called 'Survivor' no less!

No one is trying to kill them. Eskimos survive in arctic conditions, don't they? With the right tools and equipment, so could contestants on 'Survivor'. But I guess asking them to actually 'survive' is asking too much. Let's rename the show 'Play Games in Paradise' instead.

Maybe you haven't been watching this season, but they were given no food and nothing to start fires with. Maybe you didn't see the flood that the Australian group had to deal with. Obviously they're still having to survive even if they're not in the cold.

There will never be a "cold" Survivor.
No women in bathing suits.

Being involved in the media, there were talks of having this season's survivor in a Northern Region. This did not mean it would be a snow covered region, but that it would be a colder climate. The idea was scraped rather quickly because they wanted to "return to the island" instead.

We went to the islands.... the outback... and the African Savanah.... but for Survivor Six, the survivors face their greatest challange yet....
Jeff Proest: (addressing the survivors prior to the start of production) "You're going to Siberia."
(play cheesy Russian music)
Siberia... the mere mention of the place brought fear to the people of the former Soviet Union. Now, sixteen Americans must survive one of the harshest climates on the planet where they must get warm.... and where fire is life.
Survivor Six: Siberia.... the ultimate challange. Coming this spring to CBS.

There is just as much chance of something killing a contestant, no matter where they go. (Maybe not if they just had to survive in a mall.) I'm not saying they should be out on a glacier or anything. None of the other "Survivors" have been in a place with an overtly EXTREME climate.
Sure, it's been hot. This would just be cold instead.

Yup, they need the skimpy clothes. They won't do it because that's what they need.
BTW, for the most part, it's no colder in the inhabited parts of Canada then it is in some place like Minnesota, or even New York. In fact, in some areas, it hardly snows at all. So saying a cold place like Canada is a little inaccurate. The Canadian Arctic would be better... or at least Canada in winter time :P

Hey, maybe they could partner with NASA and sent them to the moon?
