Amazing Race 4/10

Looks like popular vote was correct as Cyndi and Russell were the last team. (oops)

So, lets see who gets eliminated this week.

Next Week on THE AMAZING RACE:
Spoiler:
* The alliance between Chris & Alex and Tara & Wil takes a decisive turn for the worse, but will that impact Tara's developing chemistry with Alex?
* Oswald & Danny's morale is fading fast. Will a 19-hour ride on a dirt-choked train turn things around, or bring "Team Cha Cha Cha" crashing to the ground?
* What starts out as a fun shopping expedition for several Teams turns into an explosive argument between Mary & Peach.

After a couple of lame episodes, last nite's was a welcomed return to form. Lots of opportunities for teams to pass each other.

CharlesC 04-04-02 10:03 AM

I can't believe Mary and Peach have made it this far. It seems like they just keep getting lucky, but I think Peach has about had enough.

cdollaz 04-04-02 10:12 AM

Well, I have about had enough of Peach.

tofu 04-04-02 10:15 AM

when are wil and blake gonna just throw down and get it on?

of course, i don't really see wil as the fighting type even though he's annoying.

i say next stop is non elimination. they've already eliminated 4 times, its' time for a break.

Yeah, but Mary's cool! She's cute, at least. :) I didn't notice until last ep... but Mary's got some guns! Actually, both have their... "quirks," let's say. Mary's overbearing, and Peach is afraid of everything. :)

And it's already been mentioned that non-elimination legs will be aired with an elimination leg in a two-hour block... so every week, a team will be eliminated.

Two hours of The Amazing Race... *drool*

My vote goes to Gary and Dave. They've been doing really well, but I just feel it's their time.

I honestly think Mary and Peach will make it to the final 2 or however many it will be, can't remember if it was 2 or 3 last time around.

My other picks to make it all the way are the Itchy and Scratchy and then Blake and Paige.

Wil and Tara are starting to get on each other's nerves or so it appears.

well wil is getting on tara's nerves.

I am just amazed by peaches and cream, they are never last, always mid pack.

 When they got into Thailand she said "I'm really scared". Never followed up on it, never told why she would be scared, just scared. Sadly she kind of reminds me of my wife. We are a lot like Mary and Peach, me being Mary (with a penis and not as big arm muscles).

...Itchy and Scratchy...
 This show cracks me up.

The dynamics of this second show aren’t quite as interesting, but a good distraction for an hour. There seems to be a more lovey-dovey tone, like everyone (Wil and the sisters) harping on Blake and Paige for being dirty? What were their dirty tactics?- they cut across a path in front of the sisters and got to a counter before the grandmas? Its a damn race, its not dirty if you are just faster and choose not to hold hands with everyone. Of course then Wil wants to ditch the yuppie guys, showing that actually he and Blake would make hte best team. I think Wil is just jealous because Blake gets away with getting ahead whereas Wil is constantly having to cater to Taras goody-goodiness.

The two most annoying comments were "I'm really scared" by the sis and the gay guys “Last time I was here it was in a limousine” Does he have to mention how accustomed to wealth and ease he is everywhere he goes?

I think the final two will be the yuppie/frat guys and the gay guys (though, next week they start to argue, so that may be a hint they are falling apart). If the yuppie/frat guys win, that’ll mean both Amazing Race winners will be the average, upper middle class, privileged white guys- which is sad.

Peach has never been inside a public toilet before? What kinda isolated world does she live in, jesus christ. Peach must go, she's starting to work my nerves as well.

Ditto with Wil and his making stupid faces at the camera. You'd think after a week of having the camera following him around he'd tire of making stupid faces into it, but nope... the moron is still actively doing it.

I hope Paige makes it into the final two teams, so I can see a whole lotta Paige. Mmmmmm... :)

ah yes, and the guidos were a whole day behind, they should have been gone before that round...

Interesting episode.... 15 hours on a hot train.... groan....

Static Cling 04-11-02 12:09 AM

Well, as someone pointed out to me, the powers-that-be for TAR2 said that non-elimination legs would be paired with elimination legs in two hour TAR-blocks waaaaaay back before the seasons started. But things change, obviously. I'm surprised Teams BonyWeasel and Bawstahn dropped all the way down to last place. Bawstahn took a big gamble by not racing down to the wire with the BWs.

Looks like a lot of the teams are hitting the breaking point... seems there was internal strife/quitting attitude with Mary & Peach, Gary & Dave, Oswald & Danny, and (as always) Tara & Wil.

About the Bawstahn/BonyWeasel alliance... there never was one. Bawstahn had an alliance with Tara... that's it. Wil was never on Bawstahn's side. When it suited him, he allowed them to be on his side, but that was it. I don't necessarily blame him, since this IS a race, but they keep talking about the not-allliance, and it cheeses me off.

BDB 04-11-02 12:39 AM

I was hoping it was an elimination round as it was nice to see will and tara dead last.

I seriously think mary and peach are going all the way.

I also think there should be some better planning of the route with various trains departing but I guess that makes it that much harder to film, and put together.

Much easier when they are all on the one train together.

Iron Chef 04-11-02 07:34 AM

If this had been an elimination round, Chris and Alex would have deserved elimination for allowing Will to step on that mat first.
