South Park - 4/03/02

I liked the overall joke enough that I didn't mind most of the episode sucking. The trailer was priceless.

das

P.S. Following it up with It's Butters ain't too shabby either.

Still kinda wondering about the terminator type TV (Chef's new TV)... It was pretty funny, but didn't quite get it...

The whole Rusell Crowe thing sucked, but I agree the reference was funny!

I enjoyed this episode a lot. I was actually laughing out loud at most parts. but now some people say it was mediocre. i guess it must've been the Corona's I had that made it seem extra funny.

Aww what do you mean the Russell Crow thing sucked?

Making movies
Making songs
And fight'n round the world.

The best part was when "Tugger" shot itself...hahaha

The show itself wan't laugh out loud funny, but I did enjoy some of the spoofs. The Crocodile Hunter-esque Russell Crowe and his temper. The whole Star Wars trailer like spoof. And so forth...

I actually really enjoyed this episode. When Russel Crowe brought that plant to China I was on the floor. I'm still shocked at the tampon joke though. EWWWWWW she flooded the house. Sick lol.

Was it spoofing the SW trailer, or the LOTR trailer? I couldn't help but feel insulted, as I'd just driven out of my way a few days ago to catch the 4 minute trailer they tagged onto Fellowship. Of course, I laughed my ass off due to this as well.

It was a SW spoof because Fox dedicated some of it's prime-time schedule to the trailer.

Warner Brothers did the same thing last year with the final LOTR trailer.

Was it also intended to be a spoof of the guy from animal planet also? You know, the guy who you see with the crocidiles all the time?

His comments in Brooklyn were priceless.

Absolutely. In fact, it was kind of a spoof of something already on South Park a few years ago, which itself was a spoof of the Crocodile Hunter - "OK, now I'm going to sneak up to this croc here, and shove me finger up it's bunghole. Oy, he's really pissed off now!"

Every time I replay that Russel Crowe song in my head I can't stop laughing:
Makin' movies
Singin' songs
And fightin' round the world

Overall a great episode. The fact I know people that will go out of their way to see a Star Wars trailer made it extra funny. I have a friend at work that is going to see LOTR for the fifth time just to see the new Two Towers trailer.

Is that all? I went for my 8th time just to catch the trailer. Wouldn't mind making it to 10, either.

I thought this episode was very funnier, much funnier than last week's Veal episode (which I didn't laugh at).

I loved the TV turning into the Robocop robot. I remember when Kenny dressed up like that thing. It appears to be a running gag with the South Park guys.

I thought it was a Robocop reference to ED 209... it sure LOOKED like ED 209 (wasn't it called HED mode?).

BTW the trailer they so desperately wanted to see ... is the next SP movie coming out on June 21? I thought they had one more season left?

ED-209, that's it! I remembered it was from Robocop (my post above yours) but the name of that thing was escaping me.

Remember when Kenny dressed in that elaborate costume but all the kids pooh-poohed it? That was funny as hell. I think it was the Scooby-Doo episode.

The episode was a little blah, but it had a couple of great lines.

"My TV sprouted legs and started killing people!"
"Butters'll give hand jobs in the corner for two bucks." "Yea, I do lots of jobs."

overall i think this episode sucked ass. i only laughed out loud very few times. and most of them were at the sound cartman was making when he was running down the street. and the whole russel crowe thing got old after the chinese part. plus they didnt get butters into a alot of trouble like recent episodes. the one with jared from subway was proably the funniest i saw since proper use of a condom.
