Er 3/7
Spoiler:
 |
I really love these flesh-out the character episodes of er. Reminds me why I love this show. You could set this show in a church and it would be just as great.
And how about those promos for the coming weeks in er? Man, this is not going to be pretty. SPY |
This episode was really really good, and it sets the table for these 5 to be the mainstay of the show after this season.
I really dig Abby (Maura Tierney), she's just the bomb for me, too bad she smokes. |
Why the heck didn't they just name this episode "Carter Comes Up Short?"
I laughed SO hard on this show. Geez. - I really thought it was Gallant that planted the strap-on in Weaver's locker. When Carter was picking the lock, I figured it was a diversionary tactic from the writers... I shoulda just bit on it. - I'm a military med student named Mike. I will take the entire character of Gallant as a shout-out, thank you. :) - Abby and Susan finally get to hang out, and they find that they like each other, like I knew they would. Yay! - After Luka recited Hamlet in Croatian, I think Susan wanted to jump him, too. "Geez, why can't my guy be as hot as Kovacs?" - Luka and the advanced paper airplane... very nice. - "Susan, when did you lose your virginity?" "Mark Greene... kidding!" HA! - Oh, yeah... Gallant doing the Cabbage Patch in his desk?! HILARIOUS! This guy needs to be a long-term character. |
I don't usually reply, but always read these threads. As soon as I finished watching this week's episode I had to run over and see what everyone here had to say.
I felt so good after watching the whole "Breakfast Club" episode- totally entertaining and just simply fun. Right up until the point where they showed the preview for next week's show. What a downer! I wish they could've found a way to NOT kill off Dr. Greene. But, this episode was a nice break from the raw emotion we've witnessed recently. |
Breakfast Club is right.
This was a fun one. |
I think there's no doubt they modeled this episode on The Breakfast Club. And is that the first network, prime time use of the word "dildo?"
|
Great episode all around. That trauma room interrogation scene was great. Looked like everyone was keeping from laughing.
|
I've missed the last 4 episodes :(
this sucks. |
this was the best episode i've seen in awhile. as someone said earlier, it fleshed out the characters some more. i liked the fact that it was tongue-in-cheek and wasn't SOOOO melodramatic like almost all the other episodes this year. it got to be so much that i stopped watching until a few weeks ago when i heard the news about mark greene.
i was a little sad about susan and carter though. i think they're a much better match than carter and abby. abby and carter have too much baggage and would depress the hell out of each other. but it does look like abby and susan are at the start of a good friendship which is good to see. |

Am I the only one who didn't like this episode? It had a few good moments (especially the beginning), but for the most part I found it boring. I will agree with the following, however:

The guy who plays Gallant was in last week's credits as well. He appears to be the Benton replacement.
We need Randy back, and a Dr. Dave replacement. |
For some reason I though the guy in leather at the beginning was going to be Frank.
Great episode. Too bad Carter had to come off as a prick. Carrie is still a beotch. |
great episode
they really showed some of the true tendencies of the characters in this epsidoe especially carter. the fencing was interesting but those were some cheap shots that carter had. btw, why can't carter date people outside the office? besides the insurance person, he's always going after other doctors or nurses or interns. you don't dip your pen into the company ink. it's bad policy. |

I thought the guy in the leather was going to be Jerry!
Wasn't Carter's insurance babe none other than Julie Bowen (Carol Vessey on "Ed")? |

I am very, very late to this show, I've only been watching regularly for about a month  and I catch the older episodes on TNT. Good trapped-together-for-a-day episode and it was hilarious when Carter snapped the dominatrix's finger back into place and she didn't even flinch.
http://charliegoose.homestead.com/files/goose.jpg Honk! |
Actually, I think the dominatrix enjoyed that bit of re-locating her digit back into the correct position. :)
|
"Reality television is one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse." -Carter
 |
so true too

They said "hand release" last week and now "dildo"... what will we get next week!?
Great ep in my book... except for... "11, to the maid... she was 25." "Did they pay her?" "Yeah... she was the maid!" -eek- |
I was thinking the leather dude was the sexual harassment lecturer..
Initially I thought Frank, Jerry And then Ansbaugh, but I believe it was the teacher. The show was fun, Carter turned out to be such a sourpuss, and Gallant lightened up a bit. |
She was the MAID, not the NANNY! :)
The sexual harassment teacher was not 450 pounds, so it could be the same guy in the leather suit. |
