Pretty good episode. I wonder what they are going to do in the segue between segments now that Augustus is no longer?

I don't get the reasons for having the two old men on the show, Bouchmalis and Reebado (Sp?) everytime they enter a scene it's like I'm watching a completely different show, they annoy the heck out of me.

And what was the deal with the dog training this season? It seemed like it ended pretty ubruptly last week. I'm no dog training expert but I'm pretty sure it takes longer than a few weeks to train a seeing-eye dog.

And why do I still not know what happened to Rev. Cloutier? Every week I wait for some explanation and now the season's over. Crap!

P.S. That biker's crime was too funny (in a dark sort of way). burying a guy up to his neck then running over his head with a motorcycle? Is stuff like this really done?

Cloutier??? I am still wondering the same thing, that was poorly done.

I'm beginning to think what they did a couple weeks ago with the singing between segments was a "dry run" for what they'd do without Hill.

Hey, I didn't think the show could survive when Adebisi died at the end of Season 4 Part 1, and it's been strong. It'll just be really weird without Hill.

Season 5 Part 2 can't come soon enough.

Will there be a part 2 of this season in August like last season? I really don't want to wait another year for just 8 episodes I really don't know what they will do next season. Nearly everyone that was a focus of storylines this season ended up on death row or in solitary this episode. They could have Alvarez as the narrator if Augustus doesn't come back to do it. I think he would do a good job.

One thing that knocked me on the floor is when the guard came back and wanted to give the cash to the old guy for his Grandchild, and the kid already had passed away. man o man.

i think the HBO webstie lists this as the end of the season not of part 1 of the season. in the FAQ it also states that it takes 8 months to a year (ors omethign like that) between seasons

I for one hope he sticks around a while. They are really developing his character.

This has been a brutal season.

First, there was the bus accident that wiped out a lot of innocent people.

Then, Beecher lost his girlfriend.

Augustus lost his wife and mother, got hooked on drugs, and got killed.

Bob lost his grandson.

Father Ray was seriously injured.

Cyril is put on death row.

Seems like the "nice" people are being made to suffer. You even sort of have to feel sorry for Alvarez (though there's no realistic way he could up for parole after everything he's done) -- he seemed to be trying so hard to change for the better.

Looks like Beecher may lose his boyfriend too.

I'm thinking he's going to "take over" the brotherhood while Schillinger is in solitary. Just a guess.

Spoiler:
R.I.P Hill

This season was good but not as intense like the other seasons but is becoming customary to kill of a main character every season?

I have to agree, I was real close to turning away from the screen during Robson's "home surgery".

I'd like now, to see a tape of me watching that scene. As best as I remember, I had my hand over my mouth and was probably making hideous sounds.

That was some sick "S"

I think Beecher or Vern would make good narrators. I freaked when I saw what Robson did to his new parts. The last episode was pretty intense, the first seven did not have that kind of intensity. My wife used to ask why there were only 8 episodes to a season, the only answer I could think of was, That is all someone can take, but it kinda lost that this season. Character development & story lines were stronger this season though.

Hill can still narrate, it was never really the character that was narrating, more like the actor. there were narration parts where he would walk around and stuff.

i think the reason HBO has fewer episodes is money. They make money thru subscription. Most people either subscribe for a year or dont, its usually not monthly. Instead of making 20 episodes of Oz, they can make 10 of Oz and 10 of 6 feet under. Some peopel watch Oz and not 6 ft (like me), there are some that watch 6 ft and not Oz, and there are some that watch both. If HBO make a diverse assortment of shows they get more subscribers and more money

Robson was worried that the cadaver gums that were put in his mouth were from a non-white person, so he tried to get rid of them. He numbed his gums with cocaine then tried to cut the gums out with a shank.

Didn't the doctor pretty much assure him that they where non-white gums, thus his immediate resignation last week.
