The Simpsons (2/24)
Well, that string of good episodes was bound to end at some point. I actually can't even remember a single funny line from this episode. Your thoughts???
|
I thought it was fairly funny, but it didn't come close to being as good as the last few episodes.
|
You beat me to it.. This episode was... i hate to say it -- Bad.
Never got me to fully laugh, i half-laughed at maybe two things. :( Maybe next week will be better. |
2 Things that made me laugh during the episode:
"I am tired of this Tarzan movie!" "Dad, this is a documentary on homeless people." and the Ostrich being alive and all the other animals being stuffed, poking Bart and "hehe"ing on the way out But other than that, pretty bad episode. |
New episode was nothing special... but at least we get 2 tonight (re-run is decent)...

Everyone forgot Ralph lying there going
"I'm a gulch." And him making Milhouse his bitch and telling him to be quiet. |
Marge: Well, Homie, it looks like there's no hair-brained adventure for you this week.
Homer: You just wait... |

The repeat was pretty good I thought, when homer screamed for like a minute straight, had me rolling.
|
And I thought I was gonna get reamed for saying the Dog subplot was unfunny and out of place.
The rest was stuff they'd already done already. We need more Ralph!! |

Originally posted by CPA-ESQ. Ok what was that all about. It had to reference some movie or book. I say this because Bart says, "eat my short stories," and then there is a shot of a torn page saying "the end??" does anyone know? |
"I am tired of this Tarzan movie!"
I'm sure pure coincidence, but Disney's Tarzan was actually on opposite The Simpsons over on ABC. I thought the episode was fair, but I did appreciate a guest voice that wasn't a big, pop culture name and an interesting character as well. If it wasn't for him stating, "Dont' bother me again, Bart" as he rode off into the sunset, I would have hoped to see him come back later on down the road. |
It seemed like they had 2 episodes going at once - one with the crazed psycho dog and one with the cowboy guy. It was really odd and hard to follow. Admittedly funny in parts, but disjointed. :( :( :(

I loved the Ralph lines, but the rest of it was bleh.

Worst. Episode. Ever.
Well, somewhere in the top 10 worst anyways. |

There are many episodes (seasons 4 & 5) that I can quote verbatim, line for line - pathetic, I know. Therefore, I know what I'm talking about and yes this last episode was even worse than most of the episodes from season 1. At least back then they were fresh. |
i didnt think it was that bad.. a couple parts made me laugh.. but it wasnt up to the quality of most of the other eps so far this season
but outside of that.. something else seemed very different about this one.. or was it just my imagination.. something just didnt seem right  |
I can honestly say that I don't think I laughed while watching this episode. :( Such a letdown after the past several weeks w/ good episodes.

It was not the worst ever but not many hard laughs either.
The best line by far was Ralph with his "I'm a Gulch". |
I missed the final few seconds and the credits due to a minor emergency in the kitchen. Who supplied the cowboy's voice and what was the last shot?

Originally posted by Charlie Goose I missed the final few seconds and the credits due to a minor emergency in the kitchen. Who supplied the cowboy's voice and what was the last shot? The ending was almost your typical 'riding into the sunset' except he rode his horse to his house, parked it, went in, took the garbage out, walked back in, looked out the window (to see if we were still there). So basically it was an almost uncomfortably long ending until finally Bart ran across the street in the foreground chased by that infernal dog. |
sure wasn't one of the better simpsons episodes. rather a shame since the last few have been really great
