Ally McBeal - 2/11/02
OMG, plenty of LOL laughs in tonight's episode. David Kelley is definitely mining that fantasy world of what parent would love to do with their kids when the kids give them backtalk and cause them grief. The projectile vomiting made my day.
So who's really on the chopping block at Fish and McBeal? Nelle's the obvious choice, but you just never know...

I read at the beginning of the season that Peter Macnicol ( The Biscuit ) would just be a recurring character this season. Really a shame because he is my favorite character. His interaction with Fish this season was the only highlight imo. I sure hope he comes back because his character deserves some kind of send off. With Kelley's past track record tho I don't see it happening. He didn't explain what happened to Renee at the beginning of this season. He also didn't explain Georgia or Whipper's absence last year.
I have been hearing rumors that Robert Downey Jr. would be coming back. Anybody else heard this? I hope it's true because I think it's the only thing that can save this show. The daughter storyline is completely ridiculous. The young actress is one of those horribly annoying supposedly cute kids that you just want to bop on the head several times.
What's up with Bon Jovi hanging around all the time. Night or Day. Did they start dating and forget to tell the writers hehe. He sure doesn't look like he is doing any plumbing work.
Another thing that annoyed me was all of the sudden the firm being in financial trouble. With the current economic downturn I can see it really happening but what I don't buy is Fish paying the people's salaries out of his own pocket. This doesn't seem true to his character. Fish's only love in the world is money. Why would he all of the sudden just give it away in huge amounts.
I hate to say it but this show needs to end. It was my favorite show for a long time but it has really lost it's steam this year. What is up with Kelley? It's like he has forgotten how to write. The Practice , Boston Public and Ally have all been either mediocre or just down right bad this year. Damn shame.

I thought it was a pretty good show. I'm pretty sure that Cyclops and his freckled girlfriend are getting canned. They might as well dump Nell, too, since she hasn't done anything on the show the entire season. I don't know if she's getting canned, though.
I'm sad to see Cage leave because I really liked his character.
I echo the sentiments about Ally's daughter being annoying.

I actually like the daughter. She doesn't annoy me. Who does annoy me is that little Pepsi girl. Anyway, back on track. I know, what is up with Bon Jovi doing at the house all day. its like he's living there. "Jenny" hasn't been on the show at least the last 2 weeks, maybe three. She's the one to go I bet. James Marsden is a close second.
I agree that it is not in Fish's character to pay out of his own pocket.
Next week: Lucy Liu returns. (She also appeared on Futurama this week).

Her Aunt (her Father's sister) has been taking care of her, but Mattie (I think that's her name) wanted to seek Ally out to see how she was and get to know her. Ally wanted her to stay saying it filled a void in her and she made an arrangement with the Aunt for her to stay.

My wife watches Ally, but since the first couple of seasons, it's just been so bitter. I don't enjoy all the in-fighting and back-biting and general spitfulness of the characters lately. I belive it was Fisch that said a few episodes back that it used to be like a big family and somehow they've gotten away from that. Indeed.
