Why don't you watch Scrubs?

So, why not? Huh? You some kinda sissy?
:D

If it wasn't up against 24 I would watch it more.

Snake Plissken 02-05-02 03:05 AM

What the hell is Scrubs? Sounds like a TLC song.

other: I don't own a television.

Your poll misses what's probably the number one reason: timeslot.

I watch Blue live and record 24. Some days I also record Scrubs and some days I record Smallville, but neither show is better than the two I watch more religiously, so Scrubs falls through the cracks. Also, as superficial as it is, the damn_NBC ads for it are so annoying that I'm subconsciouly "against" this show, even though it's pretty good. Honestly, if they bumped it around to Thursday night, I'd probably watch it every week.

Yeah - really too bad that you took a decent poll topic then sprinkled every option with some element of sarcasm to make anyone who decided to vote feel like an idiot for not watching the show. Nice touch.

I happen to like the show very much, but it is in the wrong timeslot. NBC should leave this show in the 8:30 Thursday slot after Friends instead of re-running old Friends and Will & Grace episodes after (finally) canning Inside Schwartz.

Brian Shannon 02-05-02 08:07 AM

I saw about 15 minutes of one show and did not like it.

BDLOU 02-05-02 09:29 AM

I usually watch 24 live, tivo NYPD Blue and I actually pull out the ancient VCR to tape Scrubs. It is a great show. I actually think it could be an hour long. It has the humor and drama that is needed. They would have to introduce some more characters which can easily be done. Besides 24, its the best new show this year.

Static Cling 02-05-02 09:30 AM

Another write-in vote for "twikoff"... er, I mean, "timeslot." I TiVo "24"... if I wanted to, I could watch "Scrubs" at the same time, but it just depends if I'm at home or not. I could also catch a rerun of "24" another night, but it's more compelling than "Scrubs," which I think is a funny show, but "24" beats it.

I think by "programming error" he means timeslot.

Oh, and I voted '5'.

Flay 02-05-02 10:04 AM

One Word: Smallville

Geofferson 02-05-02 10:32 AM

I'd watch if it wasn't up against "24".

I don't think NBC thinks that it is wise to have two doctor shows on the same night.

And on the Inside Schwartz note, it was doing better than Just Shoot Me in the ratings. I wish they would have at least aired the remaining taped episodes.

Scrubs is my favorite new show of the season. I too thought the commercials made it look stupid, but it's hilarious. Give it a shot if you haven't seen it.

bigjim25 02-05-02 01:36 PM

I watch Smallville because my mom don't like it.
I record these to watch on weekend:
Frasier/Scrubs
NYPD Blue
24
Buffy

clemente 02-05-02 03:03 PM

I do! I do!

I'll admit, it took me a few episodes to get used to the show but I've been watching since, not that hard to miss, since I don't watch anything else at that time....I have to force myself to watch Frasier so I don't forget to watch it though.

immortal_zeus 02-05-02 04:07 PM

I don't want no scrub, a scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me, hanging out the passenger side of his best friend's ride, trying to holler at me.

the "programming error" was originally intended to mean that you don't like the show, but since i did forget about scheduling conflicts, i guess it can be included there...

alternatively, if a mod wants to close this poll or add the "It's up against a better program, IMO" to the options, that would be fine.

or, alternatively, a mod could lock this thread and i could restart it without the humor (it was not intended to be sarcastic, rfduncan, although i can understand how it could be construed as so :))..

so, any which way it falls, keep this discussion going!

i'd also like to say that NBC does indeed promote this in a bass ackwords, annoying way..

For everyone who said 'timeslot' and records 24 instead, what's up? 24 is on about 3 times a week. For me the most convenient is Sunday night at 12 on FX. That leaves my Tuesday schedule open to 'ReplayTV' NYPD Blue, SVHS record Scrubs, and watch The Guardian live.

Because of the way FOX promotes the show, we already know 50% of what happens BEFORE the episode even airs. I don't want to be subjected to the following week's previews on top of that before I see the episode. For me, it's easier to watch it that night than live in a vacuum for a few days.

I watch Frasier and Scrubs.
(Scrubs was hilarious last night!)

I sometimes tape NYPD Blue.

I do not watch Smallville because frankly I hate Superman. :D

Jim in Cincy 02-06-02 11:15 AM

I'm one of those who think the show sucks. Before it aired my wife and I were looking forward to watching it, as she is a nurse. Turned out by the third episode or so we were put-off by the constant slapstick noises and screwball breaks from reality. I don't remember anything specific but it seemed like a scene was moving along when suddening they would do something incredibly goofy, or they would use a stupid sound effect when one wasn't needed. It got to be so irratating that we have simply stopped watching the show.

Maybe I'm wrong and need to give it another shot. It is one of the top rated shows so that many people can't be wrong.

While I do enjoy the show, I'll argue against this statement till my dying day. :D

Even in the South, we know how to spell "dying" and "dyeing"

P.S. And who said I would dye myself and not you?
