Special Unit 2 Cancelled???
 

I read in a DVD Talk thread that UPN had cancelled Special Unit 2. I couldn't find any more info on this, does anybody know anything? It's a bummer if true. That show is a great post-Enterprise guilty pleasure and the only thing keeping me from turning off the TV Wed. at 8 (CT). What's the scoop?

Pretty sure they yanked it over a month ago. It's still airing episodes for now, but it's gone, and production has stopped. You're right ... it's a great guilty pleasure show, and it's a shame to see it go. If I'm not mistaken, it was still UPN's third highest rated show. Considering they bought <I>Buffy</I> at its peak, and <I>Enterprise</I> ratings would be high even if they just filmed a piece of poop for 44 minutes, it seems strange to yank it. But how can you question a network like UPN that consistently produces quality high-ranking shows? Oh wait ...

Thanks, das. I dunno how I made it all this time without hearing about it. The show was totally cheesy, and the makeup often laughable, but the leads had some great chemistry. I think given the chance, the main guy (Nick, is it?) could be big. Well, bigger than UPN, at least. I just can't understand it. Hmph.

Maybe Sci Fi would consider picking it up?

They cancelled it?? Noooo!!! This is easily the funniest show on TV with perfect casting. The gnome is hysterical and the cast's chemisty is some of the best I've ever seen. The visuals are way above average to boot.

Damn, what a disappointment. I better start taping the episodes they're still showing now. I guess the chances for a DVD release are virtually nil.

They had to yank it to make room for...ummm... what else comes on UPN other than Enterprise and Buffy?

SU2 was a good show. I only wish the SciFi channel had more money so that it'd have a chance to resurface somewhere else. As it stands, It'll probaly disappear into the same hole as the other UPN shows(too bad I can't think of any other UPN shows)

I only watched this show once - a few weeks ago when that parasite/sandman invaded people's bodies and had them act on their repressed desires. The chick on that show looked pretty sweet in that leather outfit!
