Simpsons and Butterfingers-- on the rocks?
Anyone notice the less-than-friendly reference to Butterfingers in Sunday's Simpsons? Have the Simpsons and Butterfingers parted ways in less-than-friendly terms?

I think it's just that fox sold the simpson images to Butterfingers, and the writers wanted a nice "**** U" to butterfinger as a joke in the episode... i don't htink they've parted ways, i thought that was brilliant.

it was probably good for Butterfinger, it got their name out so it was probably good for advertising even though the product was the butt of a joke
some commercials annoy me so much that I try to avoid buying those products, thanks to the joke during that episode Butterfinger could be associated with humor, so it might have helped them... just an idea

Both the Simpsons website and the Butterfinger website used to mention the connection...but now neither one mentions the other. The partnership may be at an end.

well, the Simpsons have always made fun of the FOX network, then again most FOX shows do the same. It could be similar with Butterfinger (all in good fun), or it could be much more.

Well, Butterfinger put out plenty of Christmas-themed candy featuring Bart this past holiday season.
mmmmmmm, Bart-shaped Butterfinger .....

I haven't seen a Simpsons/Butterfinger commerical in at least 7 years. I guess we just don't get them up here. We never got the original "Wazup!!" commercial either.

In Japan, they are used to sell soda. It's hilarious, even though I don't get it. link

well they are re-runs, but there was a lot of jokes about butterfingers in the last season. could just be poking fun at itself.
