Comedy Central's "Beat the Geeks"
 

What do you think of this show? I am personally addicted, although it could use a much bigger budget. But the promise of it is amazing.

I hope the raitings are good...

Disturbing. The questions are all very easy. :eek:

Still, it's good to see someone take down a geek.

The basic ones are, yes. But some of the stuff these geeks know is disturbingly scary.

Puh-leeze, I nailed a good chunk of these real easy like. This show is pathetic, I was hoping for straight one-on-one showdowns between geeks and "normals", where the geeks would lay the smack down for all the years of torment from the "normal" folk.

And Comedy Central would be a joke if not for South Park and Sportsnite reruns which I'm not even sure are on any more. They cancel MST3K and put on BattleBots? How the flarging hell are fighting robots funny? Wisecracking robots: yes. Fighting robots: no.

I would also like to see the geeks and the challangers get the same type of questions. I see it pretty pointless to give the challanger a way to easy question and the geek there own.

I talked to the comic who warms up the audience for the show which I've been in a few times, and he said that the show is on hiatus right now and may not be brought back.

I don't really like any of Comedy Centrals attempts at game-show comedies (aside from Ben Stein's Money, which isn't as good without Jimmy).

"Beat the Geeks" doesn't do it for me. These guys who act like they are all superior because they know these really stupid little bits of trivia about tv shows and comic books, etc just get on my nerves. Sure, I guess we are supposed to be rooting against them, but they annoy me so much that I simply won't watch the show.

"Let's Bowl": Sucks. In every way, as far as I can see.

"Vs".: (long gone now - remember this one?) This one wasn't good either, but in retrospect, I'd rather have this one back the either of the previous two listed above. They occasionally had some good ideas; like the team of porn stars vs the nudists; penthouse pets vs hustler girls. Hmmm, maybe I only found this show watchable due to the sometimes "babe factor".

Is there anyone here who actually thinks sports night is funny?
