Another cast addition, another beautiful face. What is this, "NYPD 90210"?
So far, this season is just blah. I thought there were going to be some good firework between Sipowicz and Zack, but it went nowhere.

I have really enjoyed this season so far. I stopped watching Blue about 3 or 4 years ago, but I decided to give it another chance. I think it has been great.
I thought last night's lighthearted episode was hilarious between Sipowicz's bigotry, Sipowicz and old bag, Medavoy and the puppy business, and Det Clark's: "Yes Andy, Yes Andy, Yes Andy, etc."
Best of all was Sipowicz: "Who the hell is Nathan Lane?"
The new cop is very attractive as well. Nothing wrong with that in my book.

I think that this season has been terrific. I like the new kid. He has spunk. I like the fact that that Sipowics and McDowell have a blossoming relationship. I'll give the new detective a chance. Blue has never made a bad choice.

BTW, the new detective is Jacqueline Obradors who was also in the movie Six Days, Seven Nights.

steve: Yeah but he doesn't count. Nicolas Turturro ain't Hispanic. ;-) Although his brother John makes one mean Jesus ( pronounced "Hey-soos." )
BTW, this new detetive is ALOT better than Vanessa Marcil.

I think I've seen most of the old episodes, and don't ever remember Martinez speaking spanish. Not even to his father. Is that right?

steve: I believe Jaqueline is actually Hispanic as her last name is really spelled Obradores. Why in this day in age people still need to "fix" their names so they sound more white is beyond me. Anyway, Martinez only said a few words in Spanish here and there.
You know what I found really odd? At the beginning of this season when Esai Morales' mother was robbed, I found it funny yet disturbing that she spoke English with her own son. I know that Blue would never use subtitles but come on, any Hispanic worth his salt would speak natively with their own mother, assuming of course she was not born here or lived here since youth.

I think that this season has been good and I must say that I've been in favor of all the cast changes over the past 2.5 years have brought new life to a show that quite frankly was faltering.
Maybe shows are learning that they need to have infusion of interesting new charachters (ala Law and Order) to sustain a show?!
