The song playing as Benton starts to leave the ER for good.

Excellent episode, by the way, but kind of sad.

I was actually pretty disappointed in this episode.

I think it was a ridiculous decision by the judge to give Benton costudy of Reese. Roger was much more deserving to have full costudy of Reese than Peter. And he showed it by being willing to share Reese with Benton. Peter lies to the judge and the judge still finds for him, I don't think so. Oh, and I'm willing to bet that Roger wouldn't abandon Reese to go jogging on Christmas morning

Bye Bye Eric.....

As for the judges decision. They see so many people everyday
lie in front of them. Maybe a little honesty in a lie is refreshing.
I am not a judge so I do not know. Benton gave up a great
career. He is a responsible person and has been with Reese
since his birth. Has accepted his role as a father. Even
after a paternity test showed he was not.

Bottom line is the Judge made the best decision he could.

Its too bad not every kid has 2 people who are not even
their biological parent want them so much & care so much.

Anyways a tough call either way. I liked both characters.
Rest is moot. Story-line is dead now.

I'm disappointed that The Carter/benton relationship was com-pletely ignored this season and last. Benton and carter said like 12 words to each other all year long. I always thought that they were missing out on a golden opportunity there. I hated the custody storyline. The whole thing seemed like "drama writing 101" from the beggining.

Now I can't wait to see how they give green the Axe. I'm betting they'll kill him off so that they can milk the Corday character afterwards. Plus it'll throw the heiarchy of the ER out of whack.

Yeah, I was thinking that he have to kill him off because if he just leaves Chicago, Corday would have to go and the show would lose another main character. So far we've had 3 (Benton, Finch, and Malucci) and then Greene.

I dunno if they'll kill Greene off... but I dont think they'll have his character leave Chicago. IMO the most likely thing is he'll have to leave County for some reason, like killing the guy at the end of last season maybe?

No that plotline with the Psyco is over. They closed the book on it in the first episode of this season. I thought they handled it badly.

Personally i hate Luca. I wish they'd give him the Lucy-treatment.

Don't forget that we lost Deb-Chin too.

I think most likely his brain cancer will become an issue again. I mean all this surgery and rehab was only about 12 months ago. But that seems too simple.

Peter was shown as inconclusive by the DNA test. I had remembered Carla saying peter wasn't "the only possible father" And suspected that roger might be the other candidate. However someone argued with me that Roger didn't show up on the show until after reece's birth. Which doesn't necessarily mean that the "other guy" wasn't roger... Either way peter was still viewed in the court as Reece's Father, and since Roger's DNA was never brought up as an issue, i'm guessing they just viewed him as the step father, and not a candidate as the biological father.

I have it on tape and still haven't watched it. I will tonight.

I know I will be rejoicing because I think "Benton and his deaf son" has been the most tedious and stupifyingly boring story line on the show for a long time.
