Tick 12-13-01

Well I have to say I'm kind of disappointed in this show so far. I guess my expectations were really just too high from the cartoon. I have watched every episode of the new and old Tick, and I just miss the innocence of the cartoon. I mean in the cartoon the Tick is naive in a funny way, but in this one he is just thickheaded and irritating in his ignorance. This show has way too much of an obsession with sex. Where are the SUPERVILLAINS?!??!?!?!??!?!? They should have just made new episodes of the cartoon. I really wanted to like this show, but if it keeps this up I'm going to have to give up on it.

I actually liked this one, compared to the last two. The Tick shouldn't just be about fighting the supervillain of the week. It would have been lame if 'Waxman' did end up being a mantis or something.

They should however do a future episode with the 'A-Hole'.

I always feel as if I'm the only one who enjoys the show for what it is. Granted, it's not as good as the cartoon, but primetime animated series (with a few exceptions) just don't pull in the general viewing audience and without them no show survives. Given that they're not allowed to use the original characters for the most part, I think they're doing a fairly decent job of introducing the characters and the quirky humor that isn't standard fare for Joe Public.

Just my $.02.

I'm not saying the show isn't funny; it's just that I'm not laughing as often as I thought I would be. I guess I wish they would focus more on the Tick instead of Arthur, which it seems to me they are doing. Oh and Zipperneck was on the cartoon. He was one of Chairface Chippendale's henchmen.

They should just call this show Arthur, cuz they're not fooling anyone.

See that's what I'm saying. I tune in to watch the blue guy. Instead he's reduced to virtually a cameo role.
