Please! Someone take RAW off the air!

My eyes! I gouged them out an hour ago! Me ears! Stone Cold began saying what like a broken record! Now the audience is doing it! I had to burst my eardrums! To keep this from happening to anyone else, please, someone take RAW off the air!

Da Thrilla 11-12-01 10:11 PM

WHAT?

BizRodian 11-12-01 10:14 PM

Don't like it, don't watch it :P

I don't and maybe one day it'll be off the air because of it ;)

(BTW, I know you're just kidding)

ViewAskewbian 11-12-01 10:20 PM

I could not believe this.
I COULD NOT BELIEVE THIS! ! !
I mean, when they could have had a really good
match or, at least something that lead merit
to the bland fued going on, we get this
silly farce the FIRST time the Rock and SCSA
see each other eye to eye since Mania.
This is what they do when the show goes off
the air and I felt as though the left the
camera rolling. . .

Sure, it may have been funny at first but what
the hell was the point. . .?

My Lord, are they going downhill. ..

WHAT?

Was Mick Foley doing a promo or a shoot tonight? If it was a real shoot and he is leaving, then the WWF is truly going downhill fast and needs some serious revamping.

I have no idea about that one.
It seemed very much like a shoot as
JR was befudled a bit, worse then he
usually is. I don't know but, no matter,
what he said was RIGHT!

It's only 8:30 here on the west coast, so RAW hasn't aired yet. Sounds like it was pretty bad...

Well, shoot or take Foley nailed the situation on the head. I think he probably got fed up with the B.S. McMahon and family have been shelling out and finally said screw it and did this spot. I hope to see him again soon in some form or fashion. I do not know why, but I have the feeling this was the last time we'll see Foley on TV. I hope I'm wrong, but it looks that way.

Oh, man, how could I forget another
build of Tazz finally kicking some ass
like he did in his ECW days to get
yet another 5 second Tazz loss. . .

Man, I hate it. I just can't stand it. . .

middle of the show

I wondered about Mick as well...I thought that one was a shoot. If it was he took one for wrestling as a whole, he knows that the belts have no meaning now, and he put Vince in a corner if the unification was not in the script.

That's why I love Mick Foley. He was always about the wrestling. Very few are as dedicated to this business as he is.

Stupid me went and got food when he came on. Does anyone know where I could view that piece online?

AgtFox 11-13-01 08:06 AM

I would like video of that too. I caught the end of RAW (first time I've watched in many weeks) with Stone Cold and the Rock singing. Did the Regal/Rock match go really short or what? That whole singing part looked a lot like it shouldn't have been on the live broadcast and is usually something they do after the taping is done.

WWF is going downhill fast it seems...no wonder I haven't been watching.

GuessWho 11-13-01 08:53 AM

Did the end advance storyline?

No.

Did it build Survivor Series?

No.

Was it entertainment?

YES.

Lighten up, guys! You're all coming off like snobs... you sound more like horse polo or croquet fans... this is WWF!!! Geesh.

Besides, how many RAWs have a Kamala the Ugandan Giant appearance? ;)

Fanboy 11-13-01 09:13 AM

While I fully believe that Mick really feels that way, and he sure looks like a man who is not enjoying his job right now, if you see it on TV then it is a work. If you lived under the oppressive TSN regime here in Canada you would know just how quickly the production team can cut to crowd shots and stadium noise while Foley is hustled out of the ring.

Still, his speech was the highlight of Raw and just demonstrated what has been missing in recent weeks. Love for the business. Love for it's history. Love for the hard work and dedication needed to get to where the company is today. If I can find a clip of this speech somewhere in my wanderings, I'll be sure to post it. In the meantime, CRZ will have his recap of the speech up at /Wrestling sometime soon.

And, GuessWho, I think you missed the point when you note that it was entertainment. The point of all wrestling is to put butts in the seats and drive those PPV buys. The free TV is supposed to build for the PPV, it's supposed to advance storylines. If it isn't, then it isn't doing it's job.

Six days out of Survivor Series, supposedly the biggest match in the company's history and I (bigtime wrestling mark) could care less. We didn't even have undercard matches until Foley's promo! What a mess the WWF has become. Three minute matches, angles that go nowhere, personalities that are not over, egomaniacal bookers, apathetic audiences... they truly have become WCW.

-SIGH- :(

Awwjwah 11-13-01 10:14 AM

Personaly, the what's and him asking what his watch says cracks me up. The singing I could have done without butwhat you folks seem to be over looking is the fact that A) the story line has SCSA as a psycho, unstable head case. Is going out and being nice to the Rock what you expected? Probably not. B) The Rock is know and has been know to always go along with whatever is happening in the ring with a smile on his face exactly like he was last night till wham, he Rock bottoms someone, just like he did to Shane McMahon when he came back, and then did to Vince. The Rock was all smiles and happiness, then the face got serious and someone went through the mat. the whole point of last night's closing was to make you think that Stone Cold was jumping and that he wanted to make sure hsi future co-workers were ok with him. Why? Cause he ****ing nuts!!! The entire song debut was because Stone Cold is supposed to be off his rocker. And except for that one annoying guy you can hear in the audience he kept going What what! over and over again teh whole time SCSA was out there I laughed at how Stone Cold would say something and the crowd would say what where he normally would. And when he started turning his head to the side each time made me lose it. Obviously the crowd their thought it was funny and I guess being a wrestling fan that makes me feel good not to be alone. Has the WWF gone downhill? Yes, slightly it has and that will turn into something worse then it is now. Or maybe Vince, marketing genius that he is will do something that none of us expect. I dislike Booker T as much as many people. He's an illiterate fool and an egomaniac but i'd like to think that is part of teh script. The maniac part. After seeing him on Weakest link I know he's illiterate but he was also brought up in the WCW and has to unlearn all the bad **** he picked up there.

Have faith people. I am sure the WWF will survive.

AndyCapps 11-13-01 10:19 AM

I really need to start watching again. I've been an Austin mark since he was "Stunning". I have a match on tape somewhere where he faced Sting for the WCW title like 11 years ago because I was rooting for him.

Great post, my thoughts exactly.

With everyone complaining lately, it's almost as if they want Doink, Dumpster Drose, Knuckleball Schwartz, and Mantaur back

Hey! Thems fightin words! Of course I would love to see Kamala one last time.

GuessWho: What we are saying is that we hope the WWF doesn't get to a point where they do bring back no talents like the ones metnioned above. I will not watch SD or SS, but will tune in on the Monday after SS to see what went down.

dannybal_2000 11-14-01 10:50 AM

I think Foley's speech is a set up for next week's Raw so we will finally see the greatest champion of all time, Ric "My God you need me right now" Flair.

Spicollidriver1 11-14-01 09:07 PM

First of all the end of that show was very funny I am all about the wrestling, and not so much the show, but this was real funny until the very end what a perfect chance to prolong this is Austin jumping angle they should of cut the cameras when they had there hands up in the air. The Foley promo was great, but it is a work Mick Foley Loves the WWF and would never intentionaly do anything to screw things up for Vince you are the thinking of the characters VInce, and Mick, and anyone who has read Mick's books, and seen some of the very small amounts of footage of Vince being himself you would know that it was all planned.
