Jay Leno is awful tonight (Nov. 8)

That 7-11 joke was extremely stupid. Too bad, I used to love watching his show.

Nosebleed 11-09-01 10:49 PM

 I'm watching it too (the Bin Laden sketch) and came over to here to make a "Jay Leno really sucks ass and isn't funny at all" thread.

You could actually change the title to "every night" and probably not get any complaints...

:)

You need to make this a sticky. Just leave out the date so people don't get their hopes up.

And this is news because??

Check the new sig ;)

<b>VH1 to Debut 'Arsenio Jams,' Spotlighting The Most Memorable Musical Performances and Interviews from Late-Night TV's 'The Arsenio Hall Show'</b>

<b>Half-Hour Series Debuts With Back-To-Back Episodes Beginning Monday, November 12 at 11:00 p.m. (ET/PT)</b>

NEW YORK, Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- On January 3, 1989, late-night TV was changed forever when ``The Arsenio Hall Show'' debuted, bringing younger, hipper audiences to the talk-show genre with edgy monologues, a party atmosphere -- and musical guests like Madonna, Prince, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, TLC, Janet Jackson, Elton John, Vanessa Williams and many more.

Now, VH1 presents ``Arsenio Jams,'' a series of 30-minute episodes spotlighting the most memorable musical performances and interviews from more than 1,200 original episodes of ``The Arsenio Hall Show,'' debuting back-to-back every weeknight beginning Monday, November 12, from 11:00 p.m.- 12:00 a.m. (ET/PT). VH1's premiere episode of ``Arsenio Jams'' features the legendary 1992 visit by then-presidential candidate Bill Clinton, whose performance on the saxophone proved to be a pivotal campaign move that greatly increased his popularity and influence among young voters. Among the many artists appearing on VH1's ``Arsenio Jams'' series are Patti Labelle, MC Lyte, Ice-T, Hammer, The Isley Brothers, Babyface, Toni Braxton, Sheena Easton, Melissa Etheridge, Eddie Murphy, Tom Cruise and Ellen Degeneres.

From January 1989 until May 1994, the syndicated late-night talk show ``The Arsenio Hall Show'' differentiated itself from mainstream talk shows in many ways, targeting audiences that had previously been ignored by other late-night talk shows, including African Americans, Latinos, and the younger generation of television viewers. Showcasing a wide variety of alternative celebrities, comedians, and the hottest rock, rap, and soul performers, Arsenio occasionally dedicated an entire show exclusively to musical performances.

VH1 produces and programs a wide variety of music-based series, specials, live events and acquisition-based programming that keeps viewers in touch with the music they love. VH1 is a registered trademark of MTV Networks, a unit of Viacom International Inc. MTV Networks owns and operates the television programming services MTV: Music Television, MTV2, VH1, Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite, TV LAND, TNN, CMT: Country Music Television and The Digital Suite From MTV Networks, a package of nine US digital services, all of which are trademarks of MTV Networks. MTV Networks also has licensing agreements, joint ventures, and syndication deals whereby all of its programming services can be seen worldwide.

<I>tonight</I>? Leno's such a hack. If he weren't in LA, I can't imagine any stars hopping on a plane to do his lame-ass show.

As for Arsenio, I'd pay $5 a month for a channel that will show his old program. What a great show.

Does anyone still watch his show? I haven't turned on Leno in four years.

huzefa 11-12-01 11:56 AM

No, I don't think he's awful all the time. Sometimes he's got some really good jokes, but they are the ones that are adlibbed. Most of the written jokes are lame. Besides his jokes, Headlines on Monday nights crack me up. People put some really dumb stuff in the paper. "Diaper for sale. Hardly used. $2" Hehe rotfl

Leno is awful every night.

Tscott 11-12-01 12:29 PM

Late night is about the only time I can watch my DVD's and play my computer games during the week I never have time for Letterman, never mind about Leno.

I will suffer through Leno sometimes if there's a guess on I'd really like to see, but the fact that he shouts out his punchlines and laughs at every one of his jokes really turns me off. Not to mention, during interviews he's always trying to fit in some lame comedy over-generallization (usually about gender) like: "That's the thing about you women, you love to go shopping for hours, while us guys are standing by the dressing room holding your purse." or "Women are really neat and tidy, while us guys leave our underware around and don't care." Maybe those were good 'jokes'(?) back when he was doing standup in the 80's but he should just shut up and let the guest finish their story.

"I'm gonna kick Jay Leno's ass."

A quote which will live in infamy. :)
