UC: Undercover

I caught the last 10 minutes of UC undercover tonight, and i have to say i was very impressed. Maybe because it had Ving, or maybe cause it was jsut the climax of one of their most hyped episodes.... But i was wondering if this show is always this good.... I might have to add it to my weekly watch list :)

Seeing from your post that you feel 'Smallville' may be the best new show on television, I can tell our opinions differ, so take my following comments cum grano salis.

LN: Last night's UC: Undercover was pretty much the same HH: Heavyhanded forced drama they've given us EW: each week. It's entertaining enough, and I love Ving as much as the next guy, but there's little originality to what they're doing from week to week, and as we've discussed, it's like a mini-Bruckheimer film chasing one cliche with another.

I'll tell you what could fix this show: more quick zooms. Right now, the amount of random zoom and camera shake is at about 80% of the time. If they can up that number to 90% or higher, they've got a hit.

I've liked this show from the start, but then again I like this type of action. This is by far my favorite new show of the season. Alias in HD is next.

I too like Alias. I find it to be a much more intelligent show that doesn't take itself too seriously when the situation doesn't warrant it.

I think a way to improve UC would be to vary the good guys as well as the bad guys.

How about two to three week story arcs where we come in on an already started long term investegations, with some good guest stars as the Feds. Guys like Bochem Woodbine (Spelling), Geena Davis, Angela Bassett, Guy Pierce.

The lone renegade, hardheaded, hotshot, federal agent is already starting to grow stale.
The bad guy has alread had to save his life twice. He gets in to quickly and easily to create any real drama.

I do think that we will be in for some surprises as the season goes along. I usually need something in the current weeks show to make me be sure to watch next week.

Shows like Law & Order while very good shows really give me no reason to watch each week. If you miss 5 or 6 shows you have not missed anything. The charachters dont grow or change they just solve cases and nothing effects them.
