Considering getting Dish Network cheap ? You better hurry...

Dish Network's "I Like 9" has (probably - several sites have updated the date) been extended until the end of January 2002, but local retailers are reporting (ratting out) online dealers who undercut them on equipment prices. Many have raised prices upfront to $129.95 or higher and include an official Dish Network Pro Install certificate (worthless IMHO, most people can install them better themselves than the "professional" installers I know).
Even http://www.dss1.com still sells the 301 for $9.95, but you have to buy a $99 certificate "for I Like 9 promo". Many dealers have also amended their agreements to cover their butts if they get busted selling systems cheap - you agree to allow your card to be charged the extra $100+ if they get a chargeback from Dish Network :( .
There are still a few online dealers offering the good deals, but be careful; call them and make sure you understand everything about installation and your responsibilities before you buy anything.

Do you sell dishnetwork or something? If so, you might want to ask permission before advertising on this site...

I can understand this thread being in the Other Bargains Forum, but not in TV Talk ...

Just my humble opinion ...

Dude, that is low... I worked in retail once, and HAAAAAATED it  No, I'm just a recent Directv-to-Dish convert, who wants to get out the word that recent great deals on equipment may be drying up.

And Soup - yeah, I know, but it's not a bargain thread (exactly) and Dish Network IS about TV, plus it was more likely to stay on the front page in this forum for a while.

I think I'll copy it over to Other Bargains anyway, maybe more people will see it there.

It was just a suggestion. The powers that be, obviously didn't mind it being here, so I guess it's ok ...

Is there a deal for Dish that includes free equipment, free install and free service? Preferably over 800 months? -smile-

No seriously though..... is there a deal that has free equipment and installation to go with the $9/month deal? I don't care if it's a crappy dish/box, I'll upgrade later.

Free is a stretch, but there are some really cheap units available ...

This is the down-side of multiple threads spread across different forums ...

There is a DISH deal thread in the Other Bargains Forum, that details to a T how to get a system for $9.99 ...
