Re: Inside the Actors Studio -- Series Discussion Thread
Vulture is pleased to exclusively announce that a retooled version of Inside the Actors Studio will premiere on Ovation on Sunday, October 13, but without the incorrigible James Lipton and his never-ending questionnaire. (Sob.) Instead, a group of actors will be stepping into a rotating interviewer role in his place. Alec Baldwin and Jane Lynch will two of these interviewers, who will be chatting with Henry Winkler and David Oyelowo, respectively, while the season’s remaining pairings will be announced soon. Quick, enroll as a student at Pace to get VIP seating! |

I would love to watch, but unfortunately Dish doesn't carry Ovation since 2015.

Re: Inside the Actors Studio -- Series Discussion Thread
The Willem Dafoe episode was pretty good and there is a new 2 hr show with Ellen Burtsyn interviewing Pacino
I am glad it is back though I miss the old theme music. |

Re: Inside the Actors Studio -- Series Discussion Thread
I watched the Winkler interview...it was really good. Alec should be the permanent new host - he's really good at interviews.

Re: Inside the Actors Studio -- Series Discussion Thread
why did it leave Bravo?

Re: Inside the Actors Studio -- Series Discussion Thread
Lipton is getting too old to do it and Ovation bought the rights. With Lipton gone, Bravo finally could move on from it since it hasn't fit in with their trashy housewife bullshit for a long time. They kept it on pretty much solely because of Lipton and it was the network's first show.

It will get the respect it deserves on Ovation and they repeat old shows too.
