When will commerical programming resume?
I'm just as interested in the events of the world as everyone else at the moment, I lost two co-workers in the Pentagon, but I'm getting burned out by nothing BUT this coverage. I have cable, but would like to see a few commercial shows as well. To get my mind off everything if only for a little while. Most if not all of my local coverage are just those puppet newscasters anyway speculating and saying the most ridiculous things. To fill up time until something actual newsworthy comes up. Just wanted to know if anyone knows when regular commercial television will resume? And when will the Emmy's be rescheduled?

With all due respect, try turning off the TV. Go outside and enjoy life!

With all due respect, just answer my question. If you don't know the answer, then don't respond. How do you know that I'm not outside enjoying life?

I (personally) am going to try and get outside more! Just bought a new fishing rig & need to make use of it! Give it about a week and you'll gradually see the networks show sitcoms along with news 'updates'. I can all wear you down a bit, as there is SO much to take in. Just remember, this is a time of WAR! Many 'comforts' will be set asisde! |
*Sigh* Would someone please just answer my question.
I spend enough time outside. I do surf the net a little in the morning and late at night. I would like to watch some of my favorite commercial television shows at some point. O.K.? Can we move past MY schedule? |
I apologize.
If you need the information that badly perhaps you should be contacting the major television networks directly. I am sure they could answer your question. http://www.nbc.com/ Premiere Week DELAYED NBC Premiere Week has been pushed to Monday, September 24. Tonight's regularly scheduled programs will be preempted by ongoing NBC News coverage. |
Last word on this. I never said I needed the information badly. I asked a simple question. This is a general discussions newsgroup that I frequent quite a bit. I thought someone here might know. For your information, I live in D.C. and getting through to the television stations is probably not very easy at this time. But then again, since this is not a high priority with with, I haven't made any effort to do that. I doubt they would tell me to go outside and enjoy life though.

CBS will continue news coverage tonight, but will resume with commercial programming tomorrow night. Premiere week has been pushed to 9/23 (so this coming week will continue with repeats) and the Emmy broadcast is rescheduled for Oct. 7.
I don't know what the other networks are planning to do, but I assume they will follow suit. |
It all depends on the escallation and recession of the events.
|
Well, I've been watching Comedy Central and VH-1. Only news on the broadcast networks but the fall programs are starting soon.
|
It's Saturday morning and all of the major channels except ABC are showing their normal cartoon schedules. It's nice to see that some things are beginning to revert back to normal.

Little by little it seems to be fading. I'd guess by Monday it will be down to only special reports.....

Thanks Mutley. Another reason why I didn't go outside as much, I live in Arlington. Just two miles away from the Pentagon. For the first few days, you couldn't even go outside to escape it. Sirens, helicopters, smoke (!). That was the last place I wanted to go. This weekend, I went to my parents house 20 miles in the opposite direction.
Also, thanks to the few who answered my original question. |
Soon I hope
