I downloaded .avis of these 60's classics off of usenet. So many great memories. I just wish I could find the Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Hulk cartoons from the same era.

"When Captain America throws his mighty shield..."

" ... All those who chose to oppose his shield must yield ... " :) Great lyric.

I have the SPIDER-MAN 60'S cartoons on dvd.
But I was trying to buy a set for my friend's kid because he likes those episodes, but I can't find them anywhere. Only used for high prices.
Anybody know why they went out of print so soon?
Is there maybe a better set being redone with extras?

"Spider-Man, Spider-Man.
Friendly neighborhood Spider-Man"

(Okay, I took the lame-o lyrics, someone else jump in with the next couplet!)

Did you get the Submariner ones?

wm lopez 03-27-08 04:19 PM

Legal limbo. WB owns the show. Marvel owns the characters. Don't know if there's a deal between Marvel and some company(Disney?) pertaining to animated Marvel shows.

Maybe that's why the 60's SPIDER-MAN cartoons are not in stores anymore.

Giantrobo 03-27-08 10:19 PM

Oh man. I can't believe I participated in this.

70's version of SM. For fans of Electric Company.

Note the future famous narrator, Morgan Freeman. :)

But he couldn't do that in the cartoon, could he? He had to create devices to spin the webs for him. Pretty lame Spider Man if you ask me. More like "Stick to Walls Man."

Friend, get a region two DVD player or hack a region one player to play region two...they are for sale legally from the UK. Entire series.

It's odd...I never wanted the set when it came out because (and I know the show has it's fans...this is not meant to crap on it...) the show just looked horrible to me. The 80's series was from my time, and I wish that would come on DVD, but I could never get into the 60's cartoons.

And now I know it's not available except for from price gougers online, I want a set more than ever.

Go figure.
