I saw the episode where they said they live in northern kentucky but in other episodes they have said they live in other states. the fact that groening is from springfield, oregon doesn't mean that's where their springfield is. the writers dont even know where it is because they never address it and i don't think they ever will.

And don't forget that the Behind the Music episode was a complete parody. I seriously doubt anything said in that episode should be taken to heart.
