In my opinion, "EZ Streets" is easily the great television show I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. The show had everything: mobsters, crooked cops, beautiful women, suspense, murder, a drug addicted mayor, etc. But in the world of telelvision, even great shows like these get dropped after only a few episodes. It pains me to see other shows like the "Sopranos" come out and instantly be critically acclaimed, while "EZ Streets" was better but never got a fair shake (I am still very much so a fan of "The Sopranos"). Jason Gedrick and Joe Pantoliano were both excellent on this show. I think I'm going to skip the online petitions, and instead get in contact with CBS chiefs to beg for a personal DVD release of all episodes shown, or otherwise filmed!

While I wouldn't call it the greatest I've ever seen
it was certainly an excellent series. I pretty much knew when I saw the first episode though that it was doomed. It was much too dark and complex to make it in network television. It might have made it on HBO though, if Oz and make it there this certainly could. The short lived series Big Apple from earlier this year reminded me of it, it wasn't as good as EZ Streets but the tone was similar. EZ Streets did have some of the best use of music I've ever heard in a series. |
This was a great show indeed. I think 6 episodes aired and I remember seeing all of them. It had great characters and a unique style. I too hope a DVD surfaces.
