I thought that they did a good job by not catering to the masses.

No "Empire Strikes Back"
No "Return of the Jedi"
Star Wars only checked in at #27

For those who missed it, the top 3 were

#3 The Exorcist
#2 Jaws
#1 Psycho (There were about 8 or 9 Hitchcock films included)

No Jedi? That means the list was good!

I typically avoid the "AFI's 100 Years 100 Female Stars Whose Last Name Ends in 'S'" lists, but perhaps this was a good one?

E.T.?
Spartacus?
Full Metal Jacket?

These are thrillers? Another AFI list worth zilch.

That's a pretty good list, I guess.

"thrills", not thrillers.
Their concept may be a bit broad, but when discussing why a certain film was picked, they focused on certain scenes. Having a thrilling "scene" in a film made it elligible for the list.
