So what did you guys think of it? So Monica isnt the one pregnant, it seems to be obvious that Rachel is the one whos pregnant. So who do you think knocked her up? I think ofcourse it has to be Ross or Joey. I have no idea which one of the two it would be becuase it would work out so nicely for either one, it would be interesting either way.
Overall i thought the episode tonight was hillarious. The best parts were with Joey and Gary Oldman, and also the scenes with Ross. So post your thoughts...

I loved the spitting scenes, I was cracking up at those, and my guess as to the father of the baby is...... Ross!! You know it's gotta be Ross, 'cuz next year is the series finale, and they're just gonna wrap it up with him marrying Rachel over this. We are assuming Ross & Rachel hooked up a little while ago, even though we didn't see anything happen. It can't be that Tag guy's baby 'cuz that'd be just dumb. And Joey as the father.... I don't think so. But, what if it was Richard's baby...........

Well - my guess is Ross... the episode started off weak, and I was afraid it would be like the finale of Sienfeld, god awful bad, but it turned out to be great. Gary Oldman, great as always, especially the ass comment, and grabbing the bottle with Joey carrying him! Gotta love that. Then Joey's bit at the wedding, great stuff.

Anyways... yeah, as huzefa said, that would work out best to end the last season. But hey, they surprised me with the surprise (I expected a little bing-a-ling, as most people seemed to), so maybe they'll surprise us again next season.

That would be great. My guess was Joey. Who did she date this year besides that male secretary she had? I missed probably half a dozen episodes.

This season sucked, but the finale was a funny episode.

I think the dad'll be the male secretary guy she dated most of the season. I hope it's almost any other answer, as that one has almost NO comedy value, but there you go...

I think the surprise ending was very <b>contrived</b>.

I mean, Jennifer Aniston with child? Puleeeeze.

I love <b>FRIENDS</b>, but this year was uneven and inconsistent. Worst than even the first year.

Also, did you see Morgan Fairchild. Wow! She is 51! I guess she is now tops on my oldest chick I'd like to bang list (topping former leader Renee Russo).

You better be kidding. The first year IMO was one of the best. They had so many gueststars on and so many storylines outside of the 6friends/2apartments. The one where Underdog gets away was a personal fave, Joey had VD..... hehe.

I'm thinking that she is planning on getting pregnant for real sometime by next year, and they are preparing for it by having her character get pregnant, rather than some of the cheezier excuses, such as her just getting fat.

I wonder if the writers even know for sure who they will make the father be.

As was pointed out, the "surprise" ending was obvious from the begining and quite contrived.

Knowing the "talent" behind the scenes at 'Friends', the "father" will be some super guest star that they hype without end, drag throughout the whole season and give us more substandard programming from a show that should have left the air years ago. Maybe it'll be Brad Pitt.

I too found the episode enjoyable, as they all are, but nothing to make me want to watch the show more than what will be going against it this Fall.

Seriously, I thought the season finale was pretty good. I must admit, though, that I thought the "surprise" was going to be Chandler saying the wrong name a la Ross.

I think that Jennifer Aniston is either already preggers or is gonna get preggers since they wrote that into the finale.

I was thinking through the episode that it can't be monica it was so anti-climatic. Then when they said (implied) it is racheal the first thing i thought of is that jennifer anistan must be pregnant. I hope the writers haven't gotten that desperate that they must create surprises that are unbelevable.

It was pretty good. I liked it a lot as, despite the drama, it remained a comedy episode (unlike last year, which I did like, just not as funny). I'm glad they didn't bring Janus back!! :)

As for Jennifer Aniston pregnant, that surprised me. I didn't see that one coming. I really doubt the father will be Tag, the male secretary. He's out of the show, he won't be back. I have a feeling it might be some result of her getting drunk and one night stand with Ross.

By the way, if I'm not mistaken, Friend's last year is not next year?? I thought it was the following year??

I thought it was an enjoyable episode also.
I fell into the trap that probably a lot of people did. I thought it would be Monica saying she was pregnant.
I was shocked when Monica said she wasn't and they ended the episode by slowing fading onto Rachel and she was all nervous looking.

Where did you guys hear that next season is the last? I know its coming soon, 8 just finished and it can't go on forever.
I also remember reading somewhere that by the end of the series, all the friends will be hooked up with each other.
And going with past episodes, it would be a no brainer to see that Ross and Rachel would end up. That would leave Joey and Phobie(remember the whole marriage backup plan episode. Joey is Phoebies fallback)

Still, it is one of my favorite shows.

By way of comparision, I laughed out loud at least a dozen times during the Will & Grace season finale that aired after this weak offering. The show is definitely entering the "jumped the shark" phase. A wedding is bad enough for a TV show's future, a wedding AND a baby means we're entering "final season of Mad About You" territory. Last year will definitely be the last, how can your show be relevant when Phoebe is pushing 40?

Nope, the season that just ended was the 7th season, and next season is their last. Their contract runs out next season and it's not likely they're going to renew it. All dumb jokes aside, the show hasn't lost its appeal to me and actually made me more interested in it. It's no fun if people keep trying to critique the show instead of just enjoying it for what it provides, which is just cute jokes and the like. In the words of my high school chemistry teacher, "They're not trying to teach ****ing rocket science!"

I thought it was a pretty good finale. Another vote for Tag being the father. Joey and Ross won't be the father, there's no way that's happening. Tag may never be back on the show again, but why would he have to be if he's the father? Many father's never come back again in real life, why not a TV show.

My guess is that Tag is the father, but Ross and Rachel will end up hooking up by the end of next season anyway. Ross is that kind of guy, even if he is a dork.

Next season is setup to be their last. Joey is Co-Starring in a major motion picture alongside a multiple academy award nominated actor. He said the picture was set to be release Memorial Day 2002. It's going to launch his acting career and that's how the series will end with him. He'll move to CA and Phoebe will go with him to be his entourage. Ross & Rachel get together to raise her kid, Chandler and Monica buy a house and move to Long Island to start their family.

That's how it's going to end if next year is the final season.

Well I enjoyed the episode. I only watched this past week and the week before. Before that I missed a lot of episodes due to Survivor.

So what's been happening with Rachel while Survivor was on?
I hear people refer to Ross and her and a one night stand?
Is this true, or do you think it will be implied after the fact later on if Ross ends up being the father?

I would think it would be him, just to end the series with that lovey dovey high note.

If I remember right they were just making out with each other in one of the episodes and they got caught. They siad they were just having fun or something. I guess it could be assumed they eventually hooked up.

I'm still waiting for someone to post something that says next season is the last one. I have never, ever heard that other than the fact their current contracts expire at the end of next season. That doesn't mean crap. They could always come back and sign on for more seasons. I am not a huge fan of this show any more but still manage to catch it now and then. Any one show me where the information next season will be their last came from?
