Seems kind of amusing overall. For those of you who saw the opening, who was that playing GWB's daughter Jenna? Also, Tina Fey is kind of cute as a weekend update anchor. She's not hot, but she's not ugly like Ana Gasteyer.

I missed the first 10 minutes
Benny Hill kicks ass |

the girl who played George W's daughter looked like Julia Stiles. I am loving this episode. Laughing out loud at SNL is rare for me, but so far this episode is just great!
|
yay I was right it was Julia Stiles.
|
I thought it was a pretty good episode. I think the Jeffery's skit kinda fell apart though.
|
I guess I missed the good stuff. The first half hour was so painful I couldn't take it anymore and turned it off.

the weakestlink thing made me laugh... as well as the part with the fat man walking into the store...
missed the opening though... |
It had a few good parts such as the Weakest Link and the Will Ferrel as the boss sketch, but that's about it. Didn't they say there was a cartoon by Robert Smigel in the opening. I must have spaced out or something cuz I don't remember them showing one
|
it says that every episode this season even though there aren't always cartoons

I thought it was pretty entertaining (except for a few certain skits- the Gemini's twin one, the snotty clothing store workers, and the last one). The Office Job one was hilarious. Will Ferrell was just going crazy. I also loved the Weakest Link skit. "Fred Flinstone called, he wants his head back"

I was rolling during that Las Vegas Lounge/daycare sketch when the lounge singer looked at an Asian kid and said:
"Give us back our plane!" |
It felt like a missed opportunity. If you have Pierce Brosnan as your guest host, you DO A BOND SKIT!!!! Yes, they had the thing with "Sean Connery" at the beginning, but come on, no target is easier than a Bond skit. It could have been hilarious. IMHO, they just blew it.

I realize that digital movie sketch was probably filmed prior to Molly Shannon's quasi-official (?) exit, but I really don't like how we're seeing about as much of her after "leaving" as we did when she was "in" the cast. Don't make a big deal about your "last" episode when you're marginally funny and then keep showing up.
Lovitz could get away with his reappearances 'cause he was self-deprecating (and was funnier). Also, SNL didn't run a "best of" Jon Lovitz less than two months after his exit. I wouldn't be surprised if Shannon "hosts" before the year is over. |
I'm glad Molly Shannon left -- she was so annoying -- she didn't have a single recurring character I liked.
I thought Pierce was a good sport -- that "Ambrosio" takeoff on Fabio was funny. He probably didn't want to do anything on Bond besides the opening monologue -- he must get so sick of the whole thing. |
