Hi,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I have a problem playing DTS encoded tracks on my DVD-ROM, particularly DTS ES 6.1. The movie 'skips' at precise points in the movie, and sometimes it will cause my system to freeze up and PowerDVD to crash. I downloaded the WinDVD trial and DTS playback is fine, but the demo is limited to 5 mins.

My setup:

Celeron 466/160MB RAM
Toshiba SD-M1402 12X DVD-ROM
Aureal Vortex2 Superquad PCI w/optical S/PDIF
Yamaha TSS-1 5.1 speakers
PowerDVD 3.0

Anyone have similar problems? Thanks in advance.

If your soundcard has a digital output and the recever/decoder it is connected to can decode DTS, then PowerDVD will send the DTS stream through the digital out. But PowerDVD can't actually decode a DTS stream.
