Looking for a REALLY Good Router for Home

Can anyone recommend me an excellent router with superior WiFi coverage? I live in a fairly large home and the router will not be centrally located and in the basement of a three story house. What is getting good reviews lately?

Re: Looking for a REALLY Good Router for Home

For that scenario I suggest going with a mesh wifi setup. I swapped to Google Wifi a couple years back and couldn't be happier. Pick up any wired router of your choosing, then a mesh Wifi setup. My home is pretty small; I'm using two wifi points; the one at the router and another upstairs. I think they only sell them in single or 3 packs now. There are quite a few other brands out at this point to choose from. Being able to add wifi points to fill in dead spots is great to have.

Yeah mesh is the way to go. The product will depend on you budget. Generally, the Netgear Orbi is the go to mesh system.

I moved to the Orbi Mesh (RBK50) about 6 months ago and it's been great. No more dead spots and the signal is great everywhere in the house. I have the base unit in the basement and 1 satellite on the main floor.

Ditto on mesh.

Our house has some chicken wires (or some other metal) within the walls. Wifi was a mess, even with some $150 MIMO router and an extender. Zero Wifi in the kitchen, the edge of the TV room was a dead spot, etc. Switched to Google Wifi, and it's so much better. Zero regrets.
