In need of a freeware document scanner.

Anyone know of freeware software that does unlimited # of pages at a time to PDF? That's all I need it to do.

What brand is your scanner?

I have a Brother Scanner/printer/fax, and AFAIK, there are no limitations on the number of pages you can scan to a PDF, with the included software.

Canon MF230. It's a $150 all in one laser scanner, it came with software to make it work with other programs (such as Paint) but not with standalone software itself.

Go here: https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/p...loads-software

and try the [Windows 32bit & 64bit] MF Scan Utility Ver.1.9.0.0

What do you know, that worked, thanks! I've downloaded that same file twice before as that is the first page I went to after plugging it in but for some reason this time it worked. I mean it's a dinosaur software from the dark ages but it does the job.

I really love the free Microsoft Lens app (for iOS) to scan documents with my phone.

Re: In need of a freeware document scanner.

Yeah but like today I had to do like 80 pages.

Looks wonky but it saves settings and that rinky dink app is actually really useful. 99% of the time it's used just for documents. ONE CLICK. That's all it took per batch (and 4 batches of 20 pages), and there it was, a PDF file with each batch of pages. Excellent. Really pleased with it.

Glad it worked out.

It's weird it didn't work before. Seems like every multifunction printer that I've bought in this millennium (Epson, Brother, HP, Canon) came with software that automatically saved as PDF.

Re: In need of a freeware document scanner.

I figured it's a really old printer (bought new though). $150 for an all-in-one laser seems pretty cheap. Those things aren't made for the newest Windows.
