nvme drives

i have this motherboard -

ASUS ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming LGA 1151

https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813119033

and looking to put this nvme drive on it

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...a.html/reviews

The motherboard has 2 M.2 sockets. Will it work with this nvme drive?
I think it will but not sure.

Re: nvme drives

Your motherboard:
M.2 Socket 3 Type M (2242-2280)

1 x M.2 Socket 3, with M Key, type 2242/2260/2280 storage devices support (PCIE mode only)*2
1 x M.2 Socket 3, with M Key, type 2242/2260/2280 storage devices support (SATA mode & X4 PCIE mode)*3

That nvme drive:
  • PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 Interface
You're good. It's crazy how cheap M.2 has gotten and how ridiculously fast it is.

Re: nvme drives

The PCI express NVME drive is the single best investment that you can make at present. The speed is outstanding, and the price is now very affordable. It will make your computing experience SO much more fun, expeditious, and exciting. No joke, buy a a 1 TB NVME drive (the current sweet spot) and reap great dividends.
