Your email address was found on the Darkweb...

Anybody use a CC co. that uses CreditWise (vs. FICO) and has received an email alert telling you your email address was found on the Darkweb? Does it give you the feeling like they've just lowered your credit score for that little snippet of information? What does that even mean anyway? How many millions of Americans' email addresses have been found on the Darkweb? I remember getting an email like that before, and being able to go to CreditWise and see details about dates my address was found on the Darkweb, and the information was from years ago, so any information they might have had was seriously out-dated. I haven't visited any weird places on the internet, never been to the Darkweb, surely haven't given my email address out to anyone not legitimate, how could the Darkweb have any current information on me?

Now I go to Creditwise and find no details whatsoever, no way to find out what this even means except some generalized crap that could be applied to anyone. Are these fuckers going to make me call them just to find out what the hell this is all about?

Thanks for that. Looks like I need to change my password.

Nothing like fucking up people's lives for money.

My gmail address was pwned through 16 sites. My mac.com only through 1 site and, surprisingly, my yahoo.com account has not been pwned.

So you guys are entering your email addresses into a site to see if your email address is on the Darkweb?

Well they are now.

Keep an eye out for a flood of spam emails and I mean thousands within a span of minutes. This tactic is used to cover up attempts to change your passwords or make fraudulent charges since the confirmation emails get lost in the deluge. Had this happen last month and it's a real hoot. I just keep a tab opened to Unroll.Me and delist every spam email that comes through. Almost made me ditch the email address I've had for years but after the first few days things became manageable again.

Yeah I should probably drop the Unroll Me reference as they're known to scan and sell data but I'm using it on an old legacy email address that I just want to easily be able to check for any new, valid emails without wading through the pages of spam. I don't do any real business through that account so I tend to be a bit too cavalier about security on it.

That's scared. I think some is selling data to dark web. Even I tried to open dark webs but didn't succeed. I think relevant authories should take action against the dark web.
