Is it Safe to Pay Money on Facebook? (expecting a 'duh')

Hi. I have a Facebook page that I was considering purchasing a 30 day signal boost for. (It's for a cause I believe in.)

First off: is a signal boost worth $20?

Secondly, I have a debit card that is going to be switched over to a different number in about a few weeks (change of banks). So, would it be safe to purchase said signal boost without putting my financial information at risk?

Thank you.

Facebook has to obey PCI Compliance when it comes to card information so you should be fine there. As for the rest? No clue.

I would never use a debit card for ANY online purchase, regardless of FB. Beyond, that, yeah what RichC2 said about the compliance. If you are concerned, at least use a credit card so it's easier to recover if there is a problem.

I agree with that, using a debit card attachedato your main bank account is never a great idea.

They'll advertise it to thousands of people throughout FB, whereas my audience is exceptionally small.

I'm not sure if it's worth the money.

Even if you if the debit card number is going to be switched out in the next few weeks? I really need to know this.

(I also need to get a secured credit card in down the road.)

If the debit card is going to be replaced anyway, you're probably fine. I guess technically you could be at risk until the number is changed, but once it is, there's really nothing someone could do with the old number. I'm generally not paranoid about online transactions though.

Yes, it is good to get a Facebook service to boost up the likes and views of your Facebook page. If I talk about the use of debit card there then it is normal and number of people are using their cards at Facebook.

So, essentially if I use a debit card that is going to have it's number switched out in the near future (like the day after I use it), then Facebook can't get my bank's routing number, right? I just want to be REALLY, REALLY sure.

Absolutely not, as in they can't. Right? (Sorry to be pedantic. I'm just trying to protect myself.)

They cannot get your account number from your debit card number.

It generally depends on what are you paying for. The advertisements on facebook are quite authorised but i may not assure you if you deal personally with someone over facebook about a payment.
