Blu-Ray Creation Software

Hi all,

The question is pretty self explanatory.
I'm looking to make a BluRay with a menu. Nothing overly extravagant, just a "Play Movie" button and an option for different subtitles. I have a picture I'm planning to use for the background.

I've been using Toast Titanium and whilst it's perfectly good for making the discs, the menu options are.... basic to say the least. I have DVD Studio Pro and whilst I'm aware it can do what I need in regards to the menu, I know it doesn't do BluRays.

Is there a program someone can recommend that can do those things and won't take ages to get the hang of? I have had a look online but as I'm still fairly new to this I have no idea what's actually good or not.

Cheers,

The best option on the Mac I know of for what you're asking is Adobe Encore CS6.

MakeMKV and Handbrake for Blu-ray authoring? I don't think so.

^I could well be wrong. I've never authored a Blu-ray, but assumed those would do the job. They're the gratis go-to for ripping.

How about ConvertXtoHD (Convert to Bluray) from VSO Software.

^Yes, how could I forget. Probably the best software of its kind. I didn't know there was an HD version available.

Which is pretty much the opposite of what this guy is trying to do.

Re: Blu-Ray Creation Software

Hi all,

Apologies, only just had a chance to check up on replies.

@Norm de Plume. Thank you for the suggestions but as TheBang pointed out, ripping isn't what I'm looking to do unfortunately. I'm essentially looking to create it all from scratch.

I'll try giving Adobe Encore a go, thanks TheBang.

If anyone knows of any other programs though please feel free to recommend them!

Cheers.

Re: Blu-Ray Creation Software

What you're looking for is "Blu-ray authoring software." There's a lot of options out there.

Videohelp has a list, although some don't do much more than covert the video to a form that can playback on Blu-ray players. Make sure you get one that supports menus if you feel that's important.

This site compares a few:

Vegas DVD Architect can also author Blu-rays, and would work well with Vegas video editor:
