Best external storage for iPhone 6S?

I'm leaving for a month in Asia in a few weeks, and I'm planning on shooting a lot of video and taking a lot of photos with my iPhone.

Since I can't guarantee that WiFi is going to be available everywhere that I'm going, I'd like to find an external plug-in storage solution that'll allow me to save my photos and videos onto it.

I've looked into some products by Leef, Verbatim, SanDisk, and iDrive. Ideally, I'd like a drive that will allow me to store photos and video directly onto the drive, without having to first store them on the phone and then transferring them to the drive.

Has anyone used one of these? If so, please share your opinions about whatever brands you've used. I'd like to buy one in the next day or two so that I can make sure that it works correctly before I head out.

Thanks in advance.

Not going to happen. iOS is too locked down to have you recording pictures and video directly to external storage.

I've no experience with any of these products, since I use Android devices.

Thanks for the input, Jay. I went ahead and bought a lightning-to-USB drive and I'll just transfer daily.
