Verizon to Disconnect Unlimited Data Users Who Use “Extraordinary” Amounts of Data

I wonder if 60gb is considered "extraordinary"

Within two years all unlimited accounts will be gone. If they're not revealing what they consider "extraordinary", that means that "extraordinary" is whatever they deem it to be at any given time.

DL updated: These users are using data amounts well in excess of our largest plan size (100 GB). While the 100 GB plan is designed to be shared across multiple users, each line receiving notification to move to the new Verizon Plan is using well in excess of that on a single device.

So, stay under 100gb and you'll be fine for now.

I don't normally use 100 GB on any of my lines but sometimes my main internet goes down and I use an internet pack for backup. Eh, we'll see what happens I guess.

Info gleaned from an operations meeting:

It will affect roughly 1200 customers
Their median usage is 510GB
It is NOT affecting BE accounts (with ECPD)
So this seems like it won't affect many of the "commercial" renters since they have corporate accounts with ECPD.

That is a lot of usage. I can't imagine getting that in a month unless they are in the same situation you are with a hotspot they use for home internet.

You don't know what the variance is, especially on the low side. I mean... It could impact people as low as 150gb ,imo. I suspect that of the 1200, more than half are below 512.Verizon is being coy and making it sound high, but won't give the actual cutoff. Guess we will find out soon enough.

It looks like altell customers who migrated to Verizon unlimited data and in original contract might be able to keep udp regardless of usage
