Best YouTube video download app.

I'm running Windows 7 and was wondering what the best app for downloading YouTube videos. It seems everytime I download something like this, even from supposed trusted sites like download.com,cnet, I get a bunch of malware.

I want the best virus free software out there. And a good link. Thanks.

Re: Best YouTube video download app.

There are some good Firefox add-ons. I use these two:

1-Click YouTube Video Download
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...e-video-downl/

Download YouTube Videos as MP4
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...nload-youtube/

MxTube for YouTube – Describer as the world’s best YouTube app, Mx Tuner certainly offers the iPhone users an excellent experience that is hard to beat! Allows the playing of videos in the background and the chance to rate these clips as you wish.

I use this one with Firefox.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...ownloadhelper/

Works with youtube, dailymotion, and most other video sites.

Another vote for a Firefox add-on.

Re: Best YouTube video download app.

If you use chrome you can install the tampermonkey extension and then this userscript:

https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/13...-videos-as-mp4

Adds a download button to the video's page on youtube.

This used to be good one. But now it add a BIG mark on the left upper corner on most videos. you have to pay to remove it.

that doesn't sound accurate. i just installed it and downloaded a 1280x720 file off youtube and played it back with no problem / no watermark.

i don't see any option to pay or even donate within the settings.

there are some in the dropdown labelled 'ADP' that need a converter, which they explain here:
http://www.downloadhelper.net/why-co...ggregation.php

maybe whatever conversion tool you're using is adding the watermark? but it's not the add-on itself.

Re: Best YouTube video download app.

If you don't want an add-on, keepvid works for me.

Thanks very much for the links! The first one (1-Click) worked perfectly for me!

Re: Best YouTube video download app.

I use the Firefox add-on "Easy YouTube Video Download Express". It adds a download link to the youtube video page and I can choose which codec to download the file as. Really simple!

Re: Best YouTube video download app.

1-Click Youtube Video Downloader seems to have stopped working today. Anyone else having the same problem? From their add-on website it seems that the problem is either due to an Adobe Flash update or a Firefox update?

I use YouTube Video and Audio Downloader to grab 1080p videos. It needs you to go into options and enable "Batch Mode" and point to a copy of FFMPEG, in order to end up with both audio and video in the file:

Quite possibly a youtube update which will require the addon to be updated.

Re: Best YouTube video download app.

I use 4K Downloader. It is the only one that I have found to be consistently reliable.

Yes, this is the one I use now as well, and it works for sites other than Youtube.

Re: Best YouTube video download app.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned youtube-dl.exe yet. From a folder with youtube-dl installed, you'd just type in the command prompt "youtube-dl [or youtube-dl.exe] url-of-youtube-video-or-playlist --no-check-certificate". You can use it to download all results from a search, or review all the transcoded options (including audio-only options), and even re-encode the files or embed thumbnails. I've used it for 3-4 years and have it set up in batch scripts to routinely auto-download all the new vids from certain YouTube channels.

Newasiantv.me must of fixed their problems with openload. Now you can just download from the site.

Is this still safe from the link in your post? Is it a Firefox add-on?
