I got one for my parents set when I gave them my old PS3 so they could use it to stream Netflix. It was about $10 and they've been using it without issues. No degradation in strength.

I bought one that looks like that from Amazon. No problems. I have a PS3, DVD, and Blu-Ray player connected. Obviously something like a Roku that doesn't turn off, or a Tivo that could come on while using another device, would cause issues.

I used one from Monoprice awhile back before getting a receiver, and it worked fine. Harmony remote would automatically switch inputs without a problem too.
