Did you have verizon dsl? I had it too before and it was bad. They wanted me to pay almost $40 for 1mbps. I am using cable now, $30 for 15mbps. As for mobile, Verizon:

yeah Verizon DSL. we were so far from a station or something, we couldn't even upgrade to higher speed. it was so so bad. once we had it goto nearly 3.0 Mbps...that was a good day!

Mine's pretty basic with AT&T U-Verse. I don't do that much special except for some gaming, and it's perfectly fine for that.

I pay for 50mpbs but as I've ranted before, Comcast is terrible where I live.

When I wasn't on the 50mpbs plan I was getting about 1 meg up.

Once I got Cox to provision my account and upload the modem firmware, the SB6141 has been a champ.
I have 50 mbps down/10 mbps up. However, I get Cox is a lot better than Comcast.

I don't have Comcast, but does Comcast support Motorola cable modems? If so, I highly recommend:

They do and this is the one I upgraded to when it had to be DOCSIS 3.0

The big difference between the SB6121 and SB6141 is that the SB6141 can bond eight downstream channels and four upstream channels (8×4) whereas the 6121 only supports four-channel bonding (4×4) both ways. However, the cable company has to also be able to support bonding of 8x4 which I know some don't. Cox, thankfully, does.

Re: How fast is your internet speed?
Comcast does support Motorola modems as I had one last year before I dropped them. I may invest in buying my own instead of renting but for now its moot as the Motorola modem I had last year didn't make much of a difference in terms of speed.
The problem is I live in a large apartment complex and with the way the wiring is configured outside it's going to be near impossible for me to tap out at their promised speeds.
I'm moving early next year so hopefully the situation will remedy itself.

Re: How fast is your internet speed?
I'm perfectly happy with our service, for now, but we have such terrible TV-provider monopolies here in Canada that one has to call at contract's end and haggle for the best price. Right now, we get fiber-optic cable TV with plenty of channels, a PVR and 3 receivers, fast Internet service with 100 GB monthly usage, and basic landline phone service, all for $133. That's not bad, I think. But I'll have to call again in a couple of years and threaten to leave in order to get a comparable price.
