Are you getting an iPad Mini?
This morning Apple sent out the invitations to the long-rumored iPad Mini announcement, scheduled for next Tuesday at 10 a.m. PDT:

There is also speculation that additional new products may be unveiled at the event, including an iMac refresh and a 13" Retina Macbook Pro.
So, are you getting one?

Of course there is. There is always a spot in price point. There are many people in this forum that don't want to lay out 5 bills for an iPad. It's all about price point and sucking in customers at all of them.

Case in point: the article announcing the announcement was posted at The Verge two hours ago, and already has close to 500 comments. So yeah, I think there is interest.

There's plenty. Rumored price is $250 which puts it in a great position against the Nexus 7 and Amazon Fire HD Tablet.
I already own an N7 so I'm good on this form factor.

Nope, I have a Kindle Fire HD. I actually would consider owning a Mini though if it came out before the other 7" competitors like the Fire or Nexus 7 because of the number of tablet optimized apps on the iPad, but it's a bit late for me now.

10" tends to be enough to satisfy almost anyone, but it can be a little too much.

Personally, I'm not interested in a smaller iPad though. I'm very content with my Galaxy 8.9 and if I needed a smaller tablet, I'd get the Nexus 7.

Re: Are you getting an iPad Mini?
All this talk of $250 sounds overly optimistic. Apple will price the base model at $299 because Apple is Apple and can get away with it.
I would only even consider getting one if it has HDMI out and / or an SSD slot.

I doubt it...I love my iPad and iPhone 5. A smaller size might be useful...but not enough of the time to warrant another one.
Wife as a Fire, so won't get her one either.

Forget the size for a second...you don't think there's a general desire for a genuine iPad in the $300 range brand new? I agree with the others in this thread - of course there is.

I could be totally wrong and it will be the biggest thing in the world. But considering how I've never once picked up my iPad and thought "this thing is too big" and I already have a smaller device with my iPhone, I'm not 100% sure there is a huge untapped audience for this. I'm as Apple as they come and I don't give a shit about it.

My ipad2 could fetch around 260 on Gazzele last time I checked. Depending on price I may upgrade.

Re: Are you getting an iPad Mini?
The main issue with a price point is the iPod touch there in the middle.
I mean with a $200-$250 iPad mini they would kill everyone, but that would probably include their own iPod touch. I know they are not exactly the same product, but still.

There are millions of people who have already bought an iPad. I don't think many of them want a Mini too. There are plenty more who have bought less expensive tablets recently, and I don't see them rushing out either.

As for pricing, didn't some EU leak or rumor put it at around 350 in EU currency?
