photo editing and printing software recommendation
There seems to be more photo editing programs than anything else nowadays.
I'm looking for a FREE program that allows me to do some typical image editing (redeye reduction, blemish removal, blending) that also allows me to pick and choose custom printing sizes (kind of like a collage) which allows me to ge the most out of a 8.5"x11" sheet. For example, I needed to print 4 different sized photos (3"x3", 6"x4", 2"x2" and 5"x7") and it was a guessing game and I ended up using 4 sheets of paper and lots of ink due to trial and error!
I remember using an older Windows program called "Digital Image Pro" several years ago that allowed me to choose the paper size and then drag several photos onto the work space and custom crop the photos with the actual dimensions visible so I knew how big each photo was and it also allowed me to edit/enhance each photo separately all the while still on the work space so that what I was seeing is what would be printed. Not sure why, but Microsoft abandoned that program...
I'm currently using Windows Live Photo Gallery on Windows 7 64-bit. I have a Canon MP620 printer and I'm even open for a Canon or HP program, although I don't know if and HP program will work with a Canon printer... never tried it. I don't care about publishing to social media websites and stuff.
