I have a Biostar MCP6P mobo which supports 95W tdp. I picked up a 1035t for $100ar since I saw that it is 95w tdp, but i didn't check with Biostar before buying which says that the cpu isn't supported. What would happen if I put the 1035t into my mobo?

Is a BIOS update available for the mobo, to enable support for the proc? You might kill the CPU, the mobo, both, or not have any problems at all.

Are you a gambling man?

If it's the same socket, it may and may not work. If Biostar never update the BIOS for that processor, it might still work but only if you try.

It looks like if the BIOS supported it, that it would work in that board, so I don't see any harm coming to the processor or motherboard if you try it. My guess is the worst that would happen is it just wouldn't boot.

Its possible that it will just get detected as a similar processor too, so long as it supports the same multipliers.

I doubt it would work, considering the board doesn't list support for any X6 chips.

Someone might have posted here that a 1055T worked. That's also 95w x6. Although it doesn't appear that english is their first language and they may have left a question mark off the end.

well, i tried it, and as expected, nothing. wouldn't show anything on screen. i put my old chip back in and it worked fine though. oh well, hopefully i can find a decent deal on an am3 board.
