Strange problem with images

I was moving some pictures around on my computer, and when I clicked on them to see what they were they look like shit. These pics used to look decently crisp. The dark areas of almost every pic look almost like a charcoal drawing they're so bad, muddy, and grainy. They were NOT like this before, so I'm wondering if some kind of setting on my vid card got messed up or something.

So anyhow, I uploaded 2 pics to photobucket to show you guys what I was talking about, but they look fine on the site. I opened the pic on my PC that I JUST uploaded to photobucket and it's a fucking mess. I had that window opened right next to the photobucket pic and they are so different it almost doesn't even look like the same pic.

So my situation is this, when I view pics in folders, they look like shit...viewing them on the web, or even if I transfer them to my phone, they look fine. What the Hell can this be? The pics never looked bad like this before.

Thanks,

S2K

Do you have some sort of encryption software on your computer?

Not that I know of, lol. These pics looked fine a couple days ago when I started sorting. I haven't added anything lately. On a weird side note, my BD drive keeps opening and telling me to insert a disc. Anyhow, if they looked bad on a site also, I could deal with it better, but viewing from a folder only? Strange.

OK, to update...I was opening pics with Windows Photo Gallery, which I always have...when I open them in Irfan View, IE, Paint, etc... they look fine. Is there a way to change the settings in WPG? I couldn't find anywhere to do so.

Could you show us a print screen image?

Re: Strange problem with images

Thanks...but I found a "Reset to default" option on WTG, when I did that (and restarted again) it worked fine. I also set my pics to open in Irfan View by default.

How do you do this? I see everyone talking about it, but don't know how it's done. Does PrtScrn copy what you see on your screen? Then I'm assuming you have to paste it in paint or something, then save it? Am I close?

You got it. Pressing Print Screen will copy an image of your screen to the clipboard, so you can paste it in Paint or whatever.

Note that it may not work during something like video playback or a game though.
