Are you getting an iPad 3?

Are you getting an iPad 2?

With the iPad 3 presumably being announced in March, the question arises again...are you getting one? Thoughts?

Re: Are you getting an iPad 3?

I still have my original iPad that doesn't get used much anymore. I don't see a reason to upgrade (don't play many games on it anymore, would never use the cameras on an iPad), so I'll be sticking with what I have now.

Re: Are you getting an iPad 3?

I'm "fairly" certain I'll get an iPad. But I still have a very hard time with the $500 price point. So, I might got iPad 2 if the price drops enough.

Too early. Need to know the specs first. I have an iPad 2.

Probably. I'm thinking of upgrading my tablet on the off years from upgrading my phones.

I'm sure it'll be awesome, but I'm not getting one. I'm more than content with my Galaxy Tab 8.9.

Re: Are you getting an iPad 3?

Yes.

With the almost official date for March, I sold my iPad 1st. generation yesterday. $260 for a 16 GB Wi-Fi was not that bad.

I'm going to get a 16 GB Wi-Fi again, so I think I should be covered for 50% of the cost.

Re: Are you getting an iPad 3?

I have a Touchpad 32gb that I paid $ 120 for, and it suits my needs. I have used an ipad 2, it certainly is nice, but honestly, I prefer the touchpad even if both were the same price.

I'll be getting an iPad 3 and passing the iPad 1 off to the kids or my in-laws.

I'll be getting the iPad 3 - I've been waiting for them to go higher resolution.

Re: Are you getting an iPad 3?

I skipped out on the iPad 2 because I saw no need to upgrade, so if this is a significant upgrade from an iPad 1, I'm in. It gets a ton of use from every member of my family (try prying it out of my 3 year old's hands when you want to read a book), so there's a need there. The only question is if I'll get another 3G and transfer service (can you transfer the unlimited?) or just go with Wifi this time...

Re: Are you getting an iPad 3?

Unless the specs blow me away, probably not. I have an iPad 1 that still works perfectly. I don't see a need to upgrade.

Re: Are you getting an iPad 3?

I'm considering it. If I do it will be my first iPad. So far though the rumored specs have me leaning towards an iPad 2 after they discount them. I just haven't heard a compelling reason yet to buy the newer version. A higher res screen and a quad core chip just haven't convinced me yet. Now if they make the 32GB the entry level for the same price I'm in.

Yes. My niece spilled milk on my iPad 1. The power button no longer works. Selling my gift Nook to help fund the iPad 3.

Re: Are you getting an iPad 3?

Probably not unless it's something mind blowing. I got an iPad 2 refurb about a month ago knowing there was a chance a new one would come out shortly but I ended up deciding the iPad 2 at the refurb price was a good enough deal for me after selling my firesale Touchpad.

Re: Are you getting an iPad 3?

I've got an iPad 2. I just use it for casual surfing, occasional Skyping and Airplay streaming to my AppleTV. So better resolution, faster processor and more memory aren't really needed. Unless they make some major upgrades to the features I use, or offer something new I can't live without, I don't see any reason to get the iPad 3.

What did you pay for it?

This is my issue. I "think" I'm getting either a 2 or 3. I have none now, but for what I do, I'm not sure the bigger processor and even nicer screen is worth the difference in price. But maybe...depends on that difference.

Paid 420 for my refurb iPad 2 and was able to sell my touchpad and all accessories for around 220 net after ebay fees and everything.

Re: Are you getting an iPad 3?

Just bought a refurbed 64GB iPad2 over christmas to back up digital photos on the road. It's about 70% of a laptop replacement. Bought the iPad2 because it can run the mobile version of iMovie while the first one can't.

I'm very impressed with it. If the new one is powerful enough to run the equivalent of the full version of iMovie (or better yet, a proxy/lite version of FCP X), I'll upgrade, but realistically that's a few years off. I'm thinking this will be more of an iPad2S as opposed to a 3.

Re: Are you getting an iPad 3?

Maybe. I mean, I want to, but it's going to depend on my financial situation at the time. If I get a decent tax return this year then definitely for sure.

I've never owned a tablet and really dig the iPad 2 from playing on friends.

I thought of the iPad 2 to be more of an iPad S and this was going to be a substantial upgrade. I'll be honest though I haven't been following the iPad 3's development or anything so I have no idea what must have features are going to be on it.

Given then rumors, I'd say you're right... especially with the higher resolution screen.
