PC Tower to 120Hz TV
Hey all...I have a question that I am not really finding an answer to online.
I am about ready to purchase 1) a pc tower that is always connected to an 2) led tv 1080p/120hz If the PC tower I purchase has an HDMI out, will it broadcast BluRays, mp4's, mkvs in 120Hz? Currently, my laptop with VGA to VGA doesn't broadcast in 120hz on compatible TVs. Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOO much in advance! |
Re: PC Tower to 120Hz TV
Depend's on the video card. Can you give a little more details on the PC tower?

Re: PC Tower to 120Hz TV
It is a hypothetical question...are video cards 120hz certified?? what do i need to look for when buying in regards to a video card??
again thank you so much...i am still learning! |
Re: PC Tower to 120Hz TV
I think you just have to look at the specs of the cards to see their potential refresh rates. I don't know that that's something they really advertise though, since it doesn't really matter with their typical displays, so you may have to do some digging.

Re: PC Tower to 120Hz TV
There are no devices that output in 120Hz. 60Hz is the standard.
If your TV is 120Hz, then it it takes the standard 60Hz signal and interpolates it to 120Hz by inserting a fake frame in between the existing frames. That's why no matter what kind of TV you have, it will always display the input source as 60Hz, even though your TV is outputting 120Hz. Your pc video card will output at 60Hz, your TV will take care of the rest. j |
