Easiest way to split up a video?

Easiest way to split up a video?

I just filmed something that was 30 minutes long, how can I divide it up into 2 or 3 parts? Free preferably

I've used Avidemux for simple splitting of videos.

When I save my vid in Avidemux, it's saving it as a 'file', not as a vid clip. I followed the directions, not sure what I'm doing wrong I cut the vid in half, then hit save-save video, but it comes out with a regular 'file' type.

You have to add the file extension yourself when typing in the filename. Most other programs will automatically append the proper file extension if you leave it off, but not Avidemux.

For example, if your source file is "source.avi," you should name your resulting file something like "output.avi".
