Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 ???'s

Tablets and Android are new to me and the lack of instruction is amazing.

Couple of questions concerning movie files on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 I bought.

1. I'd like to move stored movie files onto the tablet. What's the most efficient way to do this from my Windows 7 PC?

2. I bought a USB adapter and a 32GB PNY flash drive & moved some movie files to it but can't seem to play them. I downloaded an MX Video player but it shows no files. How do I have it look at the flash drive?

Thanks!

1. To move files to the Tab I just use plug the included USB cable and treat the Tab as an external drive. WiFi File Explorer lets you move files via wifi but I haven't tried it with a movie file.

I don't have the USB adapter so I can't help you there.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 ???'s

^ Thanks Lisa. I used that method for my first transfer and it worked well, just very slowly.

The USB adapter method was for movie files I didn't want to load onto the tablet but carry along on trips. Problem with that is that the USB adapter and the USB going into it make using the cover stand impossible. That connection should have been located on the side someplace.

P.S. Nice collection you have there!

Check under /mnt/usbdrive

Most players start you in /mnt/sdcard by default

In all my players you just hit the folder icon and press Parent Directory until you're back in /mnt.

I am not seeing that in the Samsung. Is this something accessed from settings / storage? I suppose once accessed I could bring it to the screen as an icon, if I could figure that one out!

I'm using Mobo Player, in it there is a Folder icon, then you hit the menu button and select "Parent Directory" to move back until you're in \mnt\, then select the USB folder.

Downloaded MoBo. Don't have a "parent directory" but found \mnt\ & the USB folder. Nothing shown in it. The drive is shown as connected (symbol next to the time, bottom right on screen) Suggestions? Thanks!
