Laptop advice

So I'm in need of a new computer and have decided to go with a Toshiba. I have found plenty I like ranging from 3gig to 8 gig of ram with plenty of hdd space. The only bad thing i see is the hdd's are mainly 5400 rpm. If I'm using it for leisure such as the net, facebook iphone etc and may do a little photo editing, do I need to worry about the 5400 speed?

Re: Laptop advice

i don't think it's going to be that noticeable since you aren't doing anything really intensive for the laptop.

Re: Laptop advice

why? if he's doing only stupid crap on the internet and occasional photo editing, he's going to spend more money for something he doesn't really need.

Re: Laptop advice

5400 is fine for a low end laptop. If you do any type of photo editing, I'd recommend at least 4gb ram, though ram these days is cheap , I have seen 4gb for around $20 on sale so you can always buy later. Ram is extremely important, once you used up all your ram, your computer will crawl. 5400, yeah, it is slower, but acceptable assuming a low end pc or laptop.
