can you manipulate tracking on a copy of a home movie? thanks

Only if a tape player, or its remote, has a control for tracking. It doesn't actually change the tracking of the tape itself, just how that particular player reads the tape. If the tape has tracking issues, they'll still show up on a player without a tracking control.

i made a copy of a home movie. can i control the tracking on the copy like i can the original. the vcr when i copy it doesn`t remove all the tracking and i copied it on the duplicate. it doesn`t have manual tracking control. i`ll get a vcr with manual tracking, can i still remove the tracking from the copy? thanks

You can't remove the tracking issue from the copy; you'll need to go back to the original tape, manually adjust the tracking, and make another copy:

While you're at it, you should consider copying the tape to a DVD or some other digital format.

If you can't eliminate all the tracking issues, then you could possibly eliminate some of the visible artifacts with digital imaging software:

Dude, photoelements le is like $79 at Costco or online

I remember we used to play with the tracking to get the old traci lords movies to play since we had copies of copies of copies
